Ex 5 star café that is worth 3 stars Since portion size has unfortunately been reduced..!

Great food and location - perfect for families. They offer gluten free options and source ingredients ethically, using local farm produce where possible. Great food and location - perfect for families. They offer gluten free options and source ingredients ethically, using local farm produce where possible. However, although still a favourite place of ours to visit, have noticed recently that although prices are the same - meals are now smaller. We never used to leave still feeling hungry, but that now happens each... More

Lovely Cafe in a beautiful park. Gets very busy on weekends especially with really long queues. I enjoy the healthier options too - lots of variety for lunch and a sweet treat for after.

The Cafe is very nice the only criticism l always have is that when it gets very busy only have one till and it takes forever to get served. Maybe they should think about having a separate till for drinks only. Other than that its very nice.

cafeinthepark, Owner at The Cafe in the Park, responded to this review

Thank you so much for your feedback and we do take on board your comments about the till. The problem we have is that if we have two tills in operation then we will be doubling the speed in which the orders are sent through to the kitchen which would result in a bottle-neck, so it's a catch 22. Great choice of cake although the bread pudding cake could have had a bit more flavour. Range and quality of drinks on offer was excellent. Definitely worth a stop off after walking round the aquadrome..

Many thanks for your feedback and I have let the Head Chef know your comment about the bread pudding. Please always feel free to bring something to our attention, we are always happy to offer you an alternative. We make our own bread everyday and when it is stale we make it into bread pudding. However, we do accept that... More

A lovely cafe by the lake . The menu has a good selection of cooked meals or there is always coffee and cake. Tables both inside and out.

We held out 7year old daughter's birthday party at Cafe In The Park. The party room is separate from the main cafe. It's got a great, well equipped room for the party, and another room upstairs to have the food. Really nice space, clean, fab homemade food and very helpful staff.

The aquadrome is a firm favorite for many people in this area and this little cafe is a great place to stop after a walk round with the kids.

We eat here regularly after dog walking/running and love it. Really friendly staff and a wholesome menu - the coffee is REALLY good too but a little reminder to fill the cup up to the top is sometimes needed (not cheap). My daughter and I are vegetarians and if we were being picky it would be great to have more... More
