This was our first visit after consulting trip advisor, for a good local restaurant for sunday lunch. Firstly I would say: check the small print because sunday lunch is not 2 courses for £15.95 it is in fact in very small print (from)! The restaurant is very bright and spacious but the food was awful and over-priced. The smallest starter... More

My friend and I visited this pub or an early dinner. They do a good fixed price menu so we thought we would go for that. The food was ok, good squid and soup to start but the mains weren't as good. The fish cakes were more like potato cakes and my hollandaise sauce was split, side of spinach lacked... More

It was several years since we last visited The Arkle Manor). When it opened, it was clear that it was a restaurant of character and quality, but as the years passed, it went into a decline. Since then, the ownership has changed as has the manager and our experience this time was equal to, if not better than, our first... More

Have been here a couple of time for dinner. The service and decor are good. The food was disappointing both times. The first time assumed I had made a poor choice as my king prawn linguini came with lots of undercooked tomatoes and tomato juice rather than sauce. The next time choose a chef's special chicken served with leeks in... More

Very nice food, wide variety of choice, reasonable prices. Do a nice Sunday roast enough for 2 people with their portion size.also do a nice set meal which is good value.

Been here a couple of times for dinner after work and both times the food was very good. The pub is part of a chain, but don't advertise it as such. There's another close by at the Wotton Hatch, and you can tell as the menu is exactly the same. Not that it's a bad thing though - the duck... More

I booked a Golden Wedding Anniversary lunch for my parents by email and within a few hours I had a response. Neil, the Manager was extremely efficient with the booking and nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived for our lunch we were greeted warmly and shown to our table straight away. The restaurant was clean and airy and... More

Attended a special lunch for a Golden Wedding anniversary for my parents, absolutely brilliant. Food was excellent, our party of seven aged from teens to 70's loved the menu and we all had plenty to choose. We had shared and individual starters, several different mains ands desserts. Food was beautifully presented and portions generous. A leisurely three course meal served... More

Came here with friends on a quiet weekday. The staff were friendly enough, but it did take a while to be served - to place our order and to get the bill. The sharing platters are quite tasty and a good choice of drinks. Not bad!

Visited with a group of 10 friends. The bar was very nice for a drink before the meal, our looking out to the garden was a nice position. The staff were always making sure everything was ok. No complaints with the Mains/Desserts but some of the starters are very small for the price they charge. Will be visiting again.
