Enjoyed the food, desserts were of large portion. Staff very friendly. Only downside is the space, feels a little cramped.

Very easy restaurant to find and plenty of space for parking including disabled spaces near the main door. Clean and comfortable and the Carvery very good. Christmas meal £8.49 includes 3 courses and coffee. It does get very busy so a few more waiting staff would be good to hire for the Christmas period.

Although this place is not terrible, its not good either. The exterior of the premises, including the building, outdoor seating area and car park are utterly filthy and there is NO need for that at all and a very poor 1st impression. The toilets are usually stinking of (you know what) and rarely serviced at all, like some rough pub,... More

Firstly you order your drinks and pay for your meal. Then with your Ticket you join the carvers queue. If you are disabled or cannot stand this is hard. Then you need a table and can't find one. Why oh why can you not sit at your table and be called up number by number? The food is very hit... More

Visited a weekday lunchtime during a visit to Plymouth. Opted for the carvery meal "with beef" (which is an optional extra, otherwise it was turkey and gammon only). 3 meals plus soft drinks came in under £19. The carvery amounted to 3 served slices of meat ("you can have 3 different meats or all of one" - there were just... More

We just popped into the Lord Louis for a quick carvery, not having been there for quite a while. It seemed much quieter than I remember but this might have something to do with the Wetherspoons that has opened in Plympton. They now have a much bigger menu, not just carvery, so plenty of choice . You can even choose... More

A well run "Carvery Pub" in Plympton serving good value food. Sometimes the clientele tend to leave the place like a battle zone but the staff do sterling work to get it back to the standard you would expect from Crowne Plaza pubs. Give it a try!

You can tell the popularity of the Lord Louis by trying to get a table on a Sunday. Lunchtime. Budget carvery favoured by the elderly, you can't cook a roast for the price they charge. If you are happy with a cheap and cheerful plate of food this is a place. Handy if you are in plympton and fancy a... More

Went with a friend who took us for a Saturday carvery meal. It is exactly as stated on the tin, but plenty of food. You can choose 3 meats with your ticket and ask for more yorkies if you wish (I did both). It is cheaper to eat on a Saturday (carvery) than Sunday, but you will have to queue... More
