Hit and miss

Like a lot of sizzling pubs it is a bit hit and miss. Have visited many times as it is local to us, and the service is normally very good, just let down on occasions if they are busy. The big let down is their in house customer service where (like other sizzlings we have visited) staff do not... read more

There were eight of us celebrating three birthdays. We were advised to order together, so that our meals would come out at the same time. Sound advice. Dishes I recall ordered: Lemon peri-peri chicken & pepper skewers, beef lasagne, blackened Pacific salmon, chicken fajitas (mine). Reasonable prices. All enjoyed their food. Friendly staff. Afterwards, we continued with our raucous evening...... More

The treacle mine is a lovely family pub and quite large with a nice outside area for kids to play. It has regular football on TV for people like myself who love it so can go out leave the kids with dad in the garden and watch footy with my girlfriends! Has good beers on too, I haven't been on... Nothing to encourage a return visit. Staff not charismatic and welcoming. You have to find a table then go to the bar to order and then collect cutlery and napkins. Food average to poor quality. Ribs over cooked - when cooked properly the meat should fall off the bone not chewed off. There has to be enough meat on the... More

3 time in a row that we have gone to this place and been given list of food missing of menu, long wait for food and then when you do get the food you spend 2/3 minutes arguing with someone about what should be on the plate. Will not be going back and strongly recommend anyone else deciding to go... More

Went to the Treacle Mine today with a friend. The place was busy but it was so easy and hassle free to order the meal and we didn't have to wait long for it either. The salad was really fresh with lovely, crispy lettuce and the fish and chips nice and, the meal hotcooked meals nice and hot. The pub... More

Not enough staff to cope with the volume of customers. The result is poor customer service. Food is reasonable however.
