This charming traditional country pub and restaurant has an unmistakable warmth about it, as seen in the furnishings and the menu. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, while the overall impression is of a pub which is comfortable, light and open. The lounge area has sumptuous tub chairs clustered in conversational groups and among the interestingly themed rooms is the New “Chocolate Rude room” with slightly risqué caricature pictures. Each room has its own individual appeal and any can be reserved for private diners. We are in our tenth year and to celebrate, come and see our refurbished al fresco dining area! The Crabmill is Good Pub Guide Approved and has won awards for food and wine. The Crabmill has also been selected for inclusion in the UK’s top 50 Gastro pubs with The Independent.

Good food and ambience

This Inn call themselves a gastropub and the food is also good and tasty and the selection is fine, so you won't be disappointed with a visit even if the gastronomy is not the highest I have tried. It is obviously very popular so reservations is probably needed.

Attractive and appealing pub but the quality of the food is inconsistent. Whilst we like the building we have sometimes struggled to find something on the menu that really appeals. The ladies toilets are frequently a bit of a mess and could do with regular visits to check on their condition.

I have visited the Crabmill a lot of times over the past few years and I have to say I can't fault the quality of food. However, the service is not brilliant and it has become quite expensive recently. Also over the years the menu does not appear to have changed much either, just a different variation on the same... We had a birthday lunch for six that even accommodated a wheelchair with ease. The food was very good with local produce and I'd especially recommend the beetroot cured salmon as a starter. The service was good and the staff helpful.

Recently visited on a business dinner. Subsequently reading these reviews I can understand a lot of the variance in the opinions. It will depend very much on what you are looking for. As a modernised, quaint pub with better than average food - this place is good. As a gastro pub trying to be a restaurant, it feels like a... More

I have been visiting this restaurant for a number of years and have found that the quality of the food has been going down whilst the prices have been going up. It's pretentious and really poor value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful it spite of the fact that on three seperate occasions dishes and food were... More

We've driven past here several times but this time it was a Saturday the sun was shining and we had time. Despite busy road the garden at rear was quiet. Plenty of seating - including some larger tables too. The field next door currently has lambs so kept the kids happy. We popped in for drinks. They had plenty of... More

As with many Henley pubs the toilets leave a lot to be desired. In the case of the crab mill it's probably the worst example compared to the food prices and good reputation. When you're paying £18.00 for a steak - dirty crummy toilets are NOT acceptable. I have been using the Crab Mill for years and have decided that... More

I'd forgotten that it was the Bank Holiday as they feel like Sunday's to me., So didn't have the late lunch I was expecting. That said, the bar menu offered didn't disappoint.

Usually enjoy lovely pubs but today's lunch was not good. Two meals went backed to be cooked some more as the lamb was really rare. My lamb was so full of fat coil not be eaten. The waitresses were lovely but we went for the food!!!! Baraset Barn every time.
