This charming traditional country pub and restaurant has an unmistakable warmth about it, as seen in the furnishings and the menu. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, while the overall impression is of a pub which is comfortable, light and open. The lounge area has sumptuous tub chairs clustered in conversational groups and among the interestingly themed rooms is the New “Chocolate Rude room” with slightly risqué caricature pictures. Each room has its own individual appeal and any can be reserved for private diners. We are in our tenth year and to celebrate, come and see our refurbished al fresco dining area! The Crabmill is Good Pub Guide Approved and has won awards for food and wine. The Crabmill has also been selected for inclusion in the UK’s top 50 Gastro pubs with The Independent.

Bank Holiday

I'd forgotten that it was the Bank Holiday as they feel like Sunday's to me., So didn't have the late lunch I was expecting. That said, the bar menu offered didn't disappoint.

Usually enjoy lovely pubs but today's lunch was not good. Two meals went backed to be cooked some more as the lamb was really rare. My lamb was so full of fat coil not be eaten. The waitresses were lovely but we went for the food!!!! Baraset Barn every time.

The location of this restaurant is lovely. The building was quirky and it had a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent from start to finish. I would highly recommend the seared tuna.

We like this gastro pub a lot but we're left disappointed with the meal served up early Saturday evening. I chose Dover sole and my wife Pork chop. On arrival , my sole and the vegetables were barely warm. My wife's pork chop was huge, very ungainly, and had a lot of fat which should have been trimmed off. Not... More

I visited this week with my husband and two friends at lunchtime. I had booked as a treat for a friends special birthday. We were not disappointed!! Food was truly sublime and service was excellent. Quite a journey for us but well worth the trip. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.

A beautiful country pub with fantastic food and efficient service. The restaurant was lovely and light and airy with a nice relaxed feel to it. We will definitely go back.

This is truely an excellent pub / restaurant. The main restaurant can add up, but most people who go there can afford it. The quality is excellent. Today we tried a late lunchtime menu that is available till 5 p.m. The dishes aren't massive but tasty, good quality and lovelly surroundings.

We visited one evening with family , very busy for a Thursday evening The building and ambience are very good and inside the the place is laid out a little like a rabbit warren due to the age of the building Starters were very fresh and good because they were clearly made that day Mains particularly pork was clearly pre... This is the second time we have visited here and on both occasions we have been really pleased. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, and as a Ceoliac I really appreciate a separate gluten free menu. It is not the cheapest place to eat but not over priced.

Went for Sunday lunch and had to eat when I got home Was asked how I wanted my beef cooked I asked for rare, it came well done. A very small bowl of "veg" for us both to share - peas leeks and carrots, it was described as leeks cabbage and peas - no cabbage in sight, 2 glasses of... More
