Description: Food is at the heart of The Farmhouse, with award-winning cuisine served...
Food is at the heart of The Farmhouse, with award-winning cuisine served throughout the day in a choice of areas. The bar and lounge are popular throughout the year for coffee and casual dining, whilst our restaurant provides an ambient setting complete with an open log fire. 'The Courtyard' is large, light and airy, spilling out onto the poolside terrace where you can dine al fresco in summer overlooking our mature gardens and the surrounding countryside with a variety of mouth-watering menus. A choice of private dining rooms is also available as well as two gazebos for informal gatherings looking to wine and dine outdoors. We combine British and Continental cuisine with the odd dish from further afield to create diverse and imaginative menus that incorporate organic and Fairtrade products wherever possible. Our aim is to cater for all palates, from fine dining to something a little less formal, so forget all your preconceptions about hotel restaurants. It's about the food, the drinks, the company and maybe just occasionally 'one too many' on a school night.

Great party venue

Have attended for various weddings, birthdays and family functions and always offers a good meal etc. Friends say the rooms are great but we haven't stayed over.

We ordered a picnic hamper to take to a remote part of the island, which was great. Unfortunately did not have a bottle opener for our bottle of wine, so we couldn't drink it. The food included was plentiful but not well matched. E.g. there was no cream for the smoked salmon. There was insufficient bread. Also, there were weddings... More

We booked for lunch to celebrate a birthdaty and had 11 in our party. The welcome was very nice and the hotel staff were really nice, friendly and helpful - can't fault them on that. We were sat outside the pool and the kids were able to have a swim which was great. The whole experience was very nice. Really... More

Our first stay and second meal here we were very disappointed in the quality of the food provided. The "specials" menu included "curd salmon" that I ordered only to find that this was one type of salmon coloured in three different ways! The "steak Diane" was in no way a French based mushroom cream sauce - rather a dull brown... More

A lovely setting in a farm guesthouse, this restaurant has interesting menu options. I had crab soup, local mushroom in filo, and fish hot pot (3 appetizers). All were delicious. The wait staff needs just a bit more training (hard to make them understand that I did not want an appetizer and a main but instead wanted to create my... More

I had the pleasure to have diner at The Farmhouse. Upfront I was told it was one of the best restaurants on Guernsey, so the expectations were high. In the bar we could have a welcome drink and select our preferred dishes from the menu. Unfortunately, several of the preferred starters were no longer available. The staff was very friendly... My Granddaughter and I went for lunch recently. We sat outside beside the pool in reasonable weather. The staff were very pleasant, food was excellent especially the dessert! Had a very enjoyable time. Couldn't fault our visit.

We had organised a family meal for 12 with relatives coming from England in preparation for my daughter's wedding the next day. Was informed that there was a function going on at the same time and that service could be a little slow. That was the understatement of the century! Starters came after half an hour but it took another... More
