Visited with my brother and sister on spec for Sunday lunch. We grew up locally but last visited in 1998! Warm welcome, good choice of beers. Menu quite small but food was beautifully cooked and well presented. Brother and sister had poached salmon with new potatoes and fresh veg and I had the roast beef. Will definitely not leave it... Three of us stopped by a few weeks ago in the evening, mainly to sample some of the excellent local beers that they have and decided to stay for dinner. It's a small little pub, tucked away from a round about, with a really old fashion, "spit n sawdust' feel, which I personally appreciate in this age of chain pubs... More

Busy little spot on a Tuesday night, bit of a wait for food, but then all home cooked to order - even the chips (not pre-prepared, oven baked or frozen - REAL) - go there and try the food for yourself. Too full to manage dessert, but highly recommend the Chicken Fricassee - delicious

Called here while out on a bike ride through the beautiful vale of Clwyd, hoping for a sandwich at lunchtime. We arrived at about 1pm, looking forward to eating in the garden, but the bar staff told us that they were too busy to serve any more food as the kitchen staff were unable to deal with any more orders!... After a really busy weekend we make our usual Monday trip here. We are always greeted by happy, attentive staff. Always warm and cosy in the winter and a beautiful beer garden with play area for the summer. Lucy and James are the perfect hosts.

Great food from a small but select and varied menu. Owners always make you feel special and welcome too. Great outdoor area too for the summers we don't usually have! AND the best kept real ale in the area in my opinion.

We recently took our Grandchildren for Sunday Lunch. Booked in for 1:30, arrived ten minutes early, ordered a Coffee and soft drinks. Unfortunately, we waited until 2:00 to be given the menu, and then at least another 15 mins for our order to be taken. Finally shown to our table (there were about 3 empty ones, although busy-ish - not... More

We arrived to meet friends in the evening of 26th Feb and there were some locals enjoying a beer at the bar (always a good sign) while we looked at the menu and two of us opted for the gammon based on previous reviews and we weren't disappointed! One of the girls had the lamb chops and the other the... More

Excellent home cooking, relaxed atmosphere and good for children. Small menu choice, but could have eaten everything on menu. My little girl said it was the best bolognaise ever

We arrive 6.00pm on thursday 5th September their were 5/6 local guys having a beer after work in the front bar, we went though to the very pleasant rear bar.
