Amazing food, just right timing. Plenty of food .Change out of twenty pounds including drinks. Great home style cooking, nothing is to much trouble for the staff. Very rustic surroundings all in all a great find...We will be back

Not bad but I won't rush back, the risotto was served on a bed of chips which made the chips go soggy. The portions are HUGE!

Enjoyed a Saturday night meal with friends to celebrate one of our parties birthday. On arriving at the pub we were a little concerned at its appearance and this concern remained with us when we entered the bar. However, we were immediately made to feel welcome and after ordering drinks we went through into the restaurant. We were given personal... More

Surprising menu in this un-prepossessing pub provided through many home produced ingredients. Home cured ham with, yes – egg and chips, is highly recommended. The ham just melted away in the mouth and was not at all expensive. One could say it was cheap, but not to belittle the quality. Highly recommended.

My wife and me remember Julie and Martin when they ran the Horseshoes at Berriew, and also after they took over at the Herbert Arms at Chirbury nr Montgomery. We had it into our heads that they had moved on again and as such haven't visited the Inn for some time, however, having decide to book for Sunday Lunch on... More

Very varied and interesting menu. Hubby had a T bone steak and said it was one fo the best he'd ever had! I had a green risotto which was delicious but I would have preferred it without the chips underneath which I didn't ask for and were hard to avoid.

Half-way through a five hour trip from Aberystwyth to London on a Sunday on the back roads to avoid the jams (thanks to our Sat Nav) we needed a loo break. We were peckish but didn't want the full Sunday lunch menu on the board - though it looked great because we'd have fallen asleep at the wheel. Our hosts... More

Called in for a meal, on our way back from Welshpool to our campsite - what a lovely surprise, with such a wide choice of really good and varied pub meals, at sensible prices. The owners made us feel at home, and our 2 westie dogs were also invited in. We will call again when we next pass that way

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening, with a great selection of classic good pub grub, plus some additonal more exotic vegetarian choices. It was quite hard to choose, but we were all very happy with our varied choices. Puddings were good too. There was a pool table and darts for after meal entertainment, which they didn't mind the younger people... More
