Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the pretty village of Rossett North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub offers excellent food and boasts a unique riverside setting...Combined with a warm and friendly welcome, The Alyn is much more than the average village pub. We have recently welcomed abroad a new award winning head chef and we are very keen to show off his talent. We are now working even harder to produce the best locally sourced, home cooked food possible.

Lovely place but fish was a slight let down

I went for dinner with my partner a while back. Its a lovely pub/restaurant. We got starters which were nice. The staff were really nice and friendly and made us feel welcome. The my main was OK but not great. I ordered battered fish. It was a bit stodgy and greasy. It wasn't a total disaster it... read more

Visited the Alyn and was immediately welcomed by the staff on entering, they asked if we would like a table and took us straight there. The menu is extensive and covers all tastes as is the wine and beer choices. The photos of the food speak for themselves. My wife had a mix of olives in a citrus dressing and... More

Arriving at the pub, we were warmly welcomed, even though we made it clear we were just browsing the menu. The specials board looked very appealing. We chose Cajun Salmon from the specials and a small Ploughmans which was a great call from Brendon. Great value, great service, great find!

Wife decided we should go out for tea. Decided to try the Alyn, very pleasantly suprised. Good variety on the menu with additional choices on their specials board. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and the pub is in a lovely location right next to the river Alyn. This would be fantastic in the warm summer months if... More

We decided to give The Alyn Christmas menu a go, especially as other venues in the area were full. The food itself was pretty good. The choice of in a Christmas dinner of both cooked baby carrots and mashed carrots when there were only roast potatoes was a little strange. The vegetarian crumble was nice but a bit dry. The... We ate here three times while staying in Rosset. We were never disappointed. The food is Delicious. I had pan fried chicken on a leek and bacon mash with a cheddar sauce. The presentation was good, and it was all cooked to perfection. I loved it so much I had it twice. The staff are all brilliant, and obviously erythromycin... More

We had the gammon and chips and it was very nice, lovely gammon, mushrooms, egg, grilled tomato and chips. Served by very nice staff and a very pleasant room next to the river Alyn.

My husband and I ate here one night in December. I chose the honey glazed ham of the festive menu and I can honestly say that it was one of the nicest meals I have ever eaten. All the members of staff were very friendly and polite. We will definitely visit again.

Popped in to the Alyn for a pre dinner drink and the drinks were all fab with great ales on draught. We ordered some whitebait to take the edge off our hunger as the meal wasn't for another two hours but unfortunately the food was a bit lacklustre with all the batter coating having fallen off into the bucket they...
