Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the pretty village of Rossett North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub offers excellent food and boasts a unique riverside setting...Combined with a warm and friendly welcome, The Alyn is much more than the average village pub. We have recently welcomed abroad a new award winning head chef and we are very keen to show off his talent. We are now working even harder to produce the best locally sourced, home cooked food possible.

Tea

Thought I'd meet my brother for a spot of tea. I had the battered fish and chips which was excellent. The batter was very light and good old real chunky chips. My brother had the gammon. It looked lovely and nicely cooked. Good portions and good value for money. The meal arrived promptly and the... read more

We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident when we we were staying in Rossett and we were looking for a restaurant that had gluten free choices on the menu. We both chose the salmon which came with seasonal vegetables and a yummy sauce. we were also tempted by the chunky chips as its not very often that you find gluten... More

Stopped by the Pulford, and the service was terrible so left and tried here instead. Very glad we did. The staff are beyond helpful and friendly and there's a beautiful outdoor sitting area. My husband had the biggest fish and chips, the staff joked it's a whale. We will be back.

Just happened to be passing on our way back from a weekend away. Lovely location by the river and excellent well cooked food at reasonable prices. Only a mistake on the bill stopped this from being 5*

Sons 20th birthday meal. 5 family members, excellent service, excellent meal. First visit and will certainly go again. On a warm sunny day, it would be lovely sitting outside, so roll on nice weather.

Good meal, nice setting, waiting staff responsive, no haggle over removing an item from the bill that had been delayed in the kitchens.

Pleasant lunch next to the River Alyn in Rossett. Service is excellent matched by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We had a light lunch of warm chicken and chorizo salad. Presentation was good only slight complaint and it is slight is the chorizo was cubed. Would look better sliced. Petty but otherwise perfect. Would recommend and will certainly come back.

Had not been here in years but when out for a meal and when back to the Alyn and boy its changed for the better. The atmosphere is more like a bistro than a pub very clean and staff welcoming the drinks are very good. There was 3 of us and didn't want a starter but shared a board of... More

We visited The Alyn on our way home from a day out to Chester Zoo, we were looking for a place to eat on a Sunday evening which is not always easy . I suggested The Alyn after a visit last summer when we stopped for a drink and enjoyed a summer evening sat on one of their delightful tables... More

After my brother's funeral, we (around 45 of us) descended upon The Alyn Hotel and were welcomed by friendly, efficient staff and the ever-professional manager, Gareth. The setting is gorgeous - rustic seating next to the river - and the food was perfect, especially the salmon! We will definitely return and wholeheartedly recommend it to any discerning foodie.
