Nestled on the banks of the River Alyn in the pretty village of Rossett North Wales, The Alyn Riverside Country Pub offers excellent food and boasts a unique riverside setting...Combined with a warm and friendly welcome, The Alyn is much more than the average village pub. We have recently welcomed abroad a new award winning head chef and we are very keen to show off his talent. We are now working even harder to produce the best locally sourced, home cooked food possible.

Great food but hectic service

The setting for "The Alyn" is delightful right by the river in Rossett with its beautiful historic church nearby and on a warm sunny day the outside dining area alongside the river would be fantastic but unfortunately on the day of our visit it was not warm enough to sit outside but fortunately... read more

I found a noodle on my steak and a piece of popadom hiding under the chips after explicitly specifying I was a coeliac and ordering a meal with GF written next to it. The food was *okay* but not worth the 2 days of stomach cramps and haemorrhagic diarrhorea.

Once per month we go out to lunch with another couple, we have to be careful as my friends wife is in a wheelchair and is on a special diet which some restaurants find challenging. However the staff at the Alyn were particularly friendly and very helpful and the disabled facilities were good which is not always the case. The... More

Visited The Alyn with my family on a Sunday. The location is amazing, right on the river. We had different meals, including a steak, a roast dinner, gammon and a burger. Everything was perfect and the staff were great! Very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning. Would recommend it to anyone looking for great food and great service!

We only visited for a drink with the intention of having a meal the following night - but we were not very inspired to return - the menu was fairly standard and everything looked OK. But it is a nice location and on a sunny day nice outside by the river, I expect.

I decided to take my mother for lunch instead of buying chocolates (which she can no longer eat) or flowers. The reception was warmly welcoming and initial impressions were good. My wife declared her pate starter to be okay but a little wet. Mum enjoyed her fish cake, declaring it large for a starter. I had soup, which was excellent.... More

A friend and I went for a meal on a mid-week night and arrived at about 19.00. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated very quickly but after that the service got slower and slower. We waited in excess of half an hour for our meals (main courses only) and, while the meals were acceptable, for the price... More

We were greeted by lovely, welcoming staff who showed us to our table. The atmosphere was wonderful ! The food was outstanding for pub food, more like pub/restaurant quality. The only down side was we wanted table service so very long delays inbetween drinks. It would have been easier to get order our own drinks at the bar. I would... More

Me and my mum had dinner here on 12th March to take advantage of the 50% off main meals promo. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. I had the lamb shank and my mum the beef pie. The food came in good time and was hot & tasty! The waitresses were helpful and the restaurant has... More
