We were there to celebrate the wedding of my sister and husband with a few friends. The main problem was deciding what to eat from the extensive menu! We found the staff welcoming and our table was set in the conservatory. We spent about four hours there but there was never any pressure to hurry up! Everyone enjoyed their meal... More

The food here is superb, so make sure you have a good appetite because the potions are big. An oldie world pub with modern attitudes. A varied menue although a tad pricey with ample choice of starters. The lamb rump was excellent. Plenty of choice for dessert and lots of choices on the wine list. Difficult to find in the... More

Sunday lunch was okay, but the meal came out warm not hot, very small on veg, 4 carrot batons, 3 bits of tender stems broccolli, 6 slices of courgettes and a spoonful of boiled leeks, this was to share between two people, improve the veg and increase the heat it will be a good meal.

We had Sunday lunch. The food from the carvery was not fine dining but was good pub grub. The service let down the experience though, slow, rushed at the table, lack of attention to detail and there was lipstick on a coffee cup.

We have been to this restaurant a few times for family meals and celebrations etc - the food is always to a high standard and many items are home made which is always nice. The prices charged are, in my opinion, very fair when compared to the quality of food provided. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere at The Fishermans... More

Took a trip down to Bournemouth on Monday to collect a piece of furniture. As I had mum-in-law with me for company I thought she might like a light pub lunch on the way back. Just out of Christchurch and heading towards Newbury, and having dismissed a couple of pubs, we spotted the Fisherman's Haunt. It looked traditional, by a... More

We have dined at the Fishermans Haunt on several occasions but yesterday will be our last. It was always best to book but we need not have bothered, the restaurant was empty at 7 on a Sunday evening. That alone should have sent warning signals. Rump steak ordered, one well done the other medium, both exactly the same. The hand... More

We have visited the Fisherman`s Haunt on quite a few occasions and we have always been very pleased. I can`t agree with many of the reviews. We went in the evening and had a great meal, served by a cheerful and efficient waitress and, although the restaurant was pretty full, we were served in a reasonable time and we all... More

I arranged a party of twelve to dine at the fishermans haunt last night to celebrate a wedding anniversary. After reading some recent poor reviews on here, I was a little apprehensive. However, after my visit, I feel compelled to write a positive review. We had the use of the conservatory to ourselves and this gave us the privacy that... More

May not have been for a while but wasn't disappointed, food and service very good , so good we went back later in the week for dinner. Not the cheapest of eateries but good quality food. As a side line they have a local produce shop in one of the bars . The place is very dog friendly too so... More
