This is the third time I have stayed and each time it is good. The room was clean, cosy but large enough for me. Shower was good although it took a long time for hot water to come through. The pub was good, food good and the staff very friendly. When I am back in the area I will stay... More

For many years, The Fishermans Haunt was a firm favourite with the whole family, frequent visits with grandkids, family etc, always great food, good service and great choice menus. Then a couple of years ago it started to decline and one Sunday evening we had the meal from hell, burnt late food, the choices on the menu had gone down... More

Not been for several years as it had gone downhill but a friend wanted to go and was I glad I did. Friendly welcome, fantastic specials board and menu and very attentive service. I had stuffed pheasant wrapped in bacon with roast potatoes, roast veg and green veg with a very tasty gravy and it cost £11.95, the food was... More

This is becoming one of our favourite places to grab a bite to eat, and every meal we have had in there has been a real treat. We had the New Forest pheasant stuffed with black pudding today after deliberating for about 10 minutes as there were loads of dishes that took our fancy. Our previous visits have ranged from... We have visited this establishment many times over the years and found it quite a cosy, welcoming pub with reasonable food and good service. This time the pub was still cosy but the food was quite unnacceptable, the vegetables were totally uncooked and hard to cut let alone eat, the fondant mash was extremely bland which left little to enjoy.... Stopped in hoping to grab a quick bite & stayed for a 3 course lunch with wine & coffees!! We couldn't pick just one dish so decided to have a feast! The staff are friendly & the food arrived fast. As the evening drew in, the staff lit candles & created a romantic feel to a country pub & restaurant!... More

We were there to celebrate the wedding of my sister and husband with a few friends. The main problem was deciding what to eat from the extensive menu! We found the staff welcoming and our table was set in the conservatory. We spent about four hours there but there was never any pressure to hurry up! Everyone enjoyed their meal... More

The food here is superb, so make sure you have a good appetite because the potions are big. An oldie world pub with modern attitudes. A varied menue although a tad pricey with ample choice of starters. The lamb rump was excellent. Plenty of choice for dessert and lots of choices on the wine list. Difficult to find in the... More

Sunday lunch was okay, but the meal came out warm not hot, very small on veg, 4 carrot batons, 3 bits of tender stems broccolli, 6 slices of courgettes and a spoonful of boiled leeks, this was to share between two people, improve the veg and increase the heat it will be a good meal.

We had Sunday lunch. The food from the carvery was not fine dining but was good pub grub. The service let down the experience though, slow, rushed at the table, lack of attention to detail and there was lipstick on a coffee cup.
