We went for dinner on a Friday, the Plough's steak night: "two prime 10oz steaks, both served with fries, mushrooms, grilled tomato and onion rings for only £20.00" The steaks were "OK", we have had better, but to be fair, they were more money, sometimes twice as much. We think that the people of Cheshire must like going out for... More

I recently had my 70th birthday lunch here. David and Pauline did a wonderful job , as did their team. The roast dinner was excellent and all perfectly cooked with gorgeous gravy. Quality of the meat was outstanding. The desserts were also lovely. Everyone was very helpful and attentive. It was a big party , 17 of us !! Bit... More

It was bank holiday and on the spur of the moment my family and I decided to go out for lunch. As we expected our favourite locations were fully booked. When we arrived at the Plough mid afternoon there was only one other couple . I thought this May have been a poor sign but we were committed now. Staff... More

Staff are rude and unattentive as well as the managers. Not made to feel welcome. Food is terrible - highly priced for poor tasting food. Will not be visiting again!

Having seen the reviews of the Plough, it seems to polarise reviewers. Some hate it, some love it. We've been going to the plough with a group for about three years, and I'd have to say we've not experienced the negatives that some reviewers have. It may be that we have been lucky, but then we can only say what... More

My wife and I visited The Plough for lunch, with friends from Chester, on our way back from a short holiday in Portmadog. What an excellent experience we had! Good food, friendly staff, in a glittering, authentic English country pub. We finished our meal and had coffee in the pub garden. I would recommend The Plough to anyone visiting the... More

This pub is an absolute god send when it comes to relaxing and not worrying about being in a pretentious place where I'm made to feel uncomfortable. Slush for the kids so they are.kept quiet and can go down to play area. Separate area for football, as not everyone is world cup crazy. Most importantly is for when I've been... More

Odd this, but I've noticed this same place is on 3 separate tripadvisors. Anyhow, that apart my pal who lives nearby suggested another visit as she had noticed a couple of recent high scoring reviews for here. We had been a few months back and were unimpressed but due to its convenient location she wanted to try it on my... More

I recently visited the Plough inn Christleton as it had been recommended to me again. Having visited the Plough inn several years ago I was amazed by the changes. Real ale, real food and a real experience. The staff and service were outstanding. A great experience and great day with the kids in the beer garden. I will be visiting... More
