Asked if the steak pie was lean as fat puts me off , assured it was. Totally correct nice and hot and with proper chips. Only had a shandy as I was driving but the rest of the party said it was very good. The Sandstone is now on our list of places to eat when we are travelling back... More

We had looked forward to going here because we had read some good reviews but we were really disappointed. The menu is not on the website - had it been we probably wouldn't have gone as it is very limited and the vegetarian options are few. After realising there was nothing that sounded tasty I opted for the cajun chicken... More

Called at the sandstone for lunch as we were doing a nice walk in the area. Took the dog in (dogs are welcome in one side of the pub) and sat by the log burner. Ordered a bbq pulled pork sandwich and my partner had a turkey and bacon sandwich - both on the 'light bites' menu. Both came with... More

Beautiful, traditional pub with plenty of quirky details. My partner insisted that he had the best beer he's ever had there. Both of us had the roast beef and it was beautiful. It's one of my partners favorite places for a roast (I personally can't find anywhere to rival my mums!!) I'll have to try their regular menu soon!!

Ate here in late November and the food was beautiful. My roast chicken was cooked fresh and tasty lovely. The service was exceptional with very friendly staff. The only downside was the roast could do with a few more potatoes as they tasted amazing 😝 thanks will definitely come again when in the area.

A friend and I popped in here after work one night for a quick bite to eat and a catch-up. What a lovely place it is. Super friendly staff and a great choice on the menu meant we stayed for several hours.

Had a great Sunday lunch today. The best roast dinner I have had for a long time. Three slices of tender roast pork with apple sauce; crisp roasties and steamed veg; cauliflower cheese; Yorkshire pud the size of a cushion. My wife had croquets with an excellent salad. Really enjoyed the meal and will be going back again soon.

We visited last year for lunch and were very disappointed this time however was much different. We visited on a Friday evening this time for dinner. Our waitress was very attentive and gave the place a cheerful atmosphere. We all had enjoyable meals and the portions were good sizes. There are gluten free options which was good as 2 of... More
