Child Friendly, Good Beer, Tasty Food, Reasonable Prices, Friendly Staff.

On our way back from holiday and called in for a late lunch. Lovely welcome and Daniel loved the toy box. Us adults thoroughly enjoyed the food and beer and a very reasonable bill at the end. We will be back as soon as we find a suitable excuse - hungry and thirsty should do it!

First of all I would like to say that the food at The sandstone is faultless, hot and tasty! The table service is great and the waitresses extremely helpful. I have visited three or four times and have found no reason to complain. However on this occasion I visited with about 8 other girls. As usual we went up in... More

Exceptional food (extremely flavourful and you get a decent quantity) at very fair prices. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely eat here again, just a shame I live so far away and was only visiting.

Haven't been to this restaurant yet but have a table reserved for later this week... Found it odd that there is no sample menu to browse on their website or any other location on the Internet... Think the addition of this would be a marked improvement as people are always keen to have a look before they eat... Follow up... More

Nice pub but food not great. Excellent beers and wines. Location is easy to find with good views. Box of toys for children is available too.

Had 2 good pints of well kept ale and my partner enjoyed a huge fish pie. But if I say I want my steak rare I do mean rare 🐂. Perhaps I should have said blu. People very nice and very busy, so I didn't wish to complain. Would go back as the menu looked very tempting

Dining out at the Sandstone is excellent, the food is of a high quality, with generous portions and well priced. With friendly staff, a pleasant atmosphere and a selection of real ales, I can highly recommend a visit

This is a fantastic place to go as the food is excellent and a very reasonable price. It's a little bit out of the way but worth the drive. We go on a regular basis and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We would highly recommend it.

Managed to get the last table in the conservatory restaurant for a group of friends whilst walking in the area at May Bank Holiday weekend. Pub is a really attractive building, with a pleasant bar and seating area, plus the restaurant. There are tables to the front and a decent sized car park. We all ordered exactly the same meal... A traditional country pub in a location which is great for walking the Sandstone Trail. To maximise "Sandstone" the local beer is from the Sandstone Brewery located nearby. Their "Edge" is very good indeed. Staff friendly and helpful, food plentiful and good. No room for pudding. Had 2 nights out there with friends and will surely return.
