Sunday Lunch in a lovely village.

Visited this well known restaurant on a rainy day for Sunday lunch. Usual type of menu with 2 or 3 courses. Starters were great and ample apart from the prawn cocktail which was mean, only a few prawns. Mains overall good but a little short on with one main slice of meat. Fresh vegetables lightly... read more

What an awesome building to dine in! Very nicely done and decorated. The food is of a good standard, although it somehow lacks that 'wow' factor. The service is very good though, and overall I would return with no hesitation.

Lovely friendly staff. Very clean. Furnished quite modern but keeping the old warm country feel. There is a set menu (could do to change a little more frequently) but always has some lovely choices and there is a special board the good thing is you can mix and match. I dont often do puds but ther chocolate pot is to... More

My husband and I visited on 11 July for my birthday lunch. We had pre-booked as we were told that it gets very busy. We ordered from the main menu which was excellent value for money at £18.95 for three courses and £15.95 for two courses.. I had a lovely roasted vegetable and goat's cheese tart to start and my... Not only a warm welcome, but friendly prompt service and interesting chat about this old pub. The bengali haddock was delicious and a bit different. We will visit again when in the area and will be sure to book as most of the tables were occupied on the Friday night when we were there. Keep up the good work.

We recently booked a Sunday lunch at the Kings Head. It's a lovely old building with very friendly and accommodating staff. My starter was pate and my wife had scallops with pea purée. Both of these courses were wonderful, the scallops were especially nice. The main courses were roast pork and cheese and broccoli bake. Although my roast lunch was... More

We stopped here for food after travelling up from Suffolk for a wedding. We booked in advance for one pm but actually arrived at 12. No problem. As the weather was lush we sat in the gardens. A beautiful setting. The menu was full of choice and along with a specials board meant we struggled! In the end we plumped... More
