Great food and service

Booking is advisable at peak times. We ate on a Saturday night. We weren't keen on our initial table offered as there wasn't much room between us and the next table who had a party of 6. But we were offered an alternative without question. We were offered a tab and our drinks were brought to the... read more

We were staying nearby so booked for an evening meal on the Saturday for 5 of us. To look at, the restaurant interior was boring and ordinary but the staff were welcoming and efficient. The starters we chose were soup (one accompanying bread roll was so hard in places that I thought my mother was about to break a tooth!)... More

We were visiting friends who took us to this lovely looking country pub for an evening meal. However our meals were very disappointing. My husband ordered rib fillet med/well, chips and salad. His chips were cold and had to be sent back and his steak was med/rare. I ordered med/rare steak and mine was well done. There was no mixup... More

A great dog friendly pub, with great meals and a good choice of hand pulled beers. We called in while walking in the area to be greeted with a cheery welcome. We opted for the sunday roast beef dinner which was excellent. With the trip advisor award for excellence proudly displayed in the window we new we couldnt go wrong.

My partner and I turned up here this evening to celebrate our anniversary. We booked a table 6 weeks ago. When we arrived we were told that they knew nothing about our reservation and that 'Nigel isn't very good at bookings' I'm not entirely sure who Nigel is. We were then offered a table for two in the corner which... More

I have given my review a 5 even though in my humble opinion the gammon was a little tough. The king prawn starter, whilst not the cheapest, was excellent. My wife had the seafood trio and roast beef Sunday lunch and both courses were excellent. The lovely country feel, ambience and service contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We will... My wife & I have eaten hear on many occasions, it's our go to pub when out walking in the wolds, the foods good, and they don't mind walking boots. Best of all Tommy (The best dog in the world, ever) is allowed in. Good pub grub.

Our diverse family group was warmly welcomed and after a drink at the well-stocked bar, chosen from one of the number of real ales, or numerous white and rose wines, we settled down with the menus at the allocated table. A variety of starters were chosen varying from soup to prawn cocktail. Similarly a variety of mains were selected including... More

Been for a lunch time baguette today took my 2 yo little girl she was well catered for. Everything is freshly cooked which can be reflected in the waiting time but in such lovely surroundings and lovely staff (Charlotte I think her name was) we didn't mind at all. We will be back again for lunch most definitely
