Quality food and beer with great hospitality.

Four of us turned up cold and a little muddy looking on a Saturday lunch time - we had been mountain biking. We were made to feel most welcome and had a great lunch washed down with proper real ale. perfect.

A decidedly average meal that was overpriced for what was provided. I was going to take my wider family for a meal and wanted to try it first, I'm glad we did. Based on other reviews we may have been unlucky, however quality food should not be down to luck.

If you want a warm welcome , a roaring fire, great draft ales and guest beers in a proper English pub in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds this old style country pub takes some beating!! Used by farmers and families alike it is the home cooked food what really makes this place worth the visit and the drive out!!... More

I had the pleasure of having a meal with a couple of mates on Friday evening, and for a change had starters too. There was a scotch egg on the specials board- which me and a mate ordered.. just have to say they were amazing!! My mates had the burgers for a main, and I had fish and chips. The... More

Had a superb meal here just before Xmas, 4 of us before a function we were attending at the pub. Chose from the Xmas specials menu, 3 courses and coffee. Salmon was delicious, perfectly cooked not at all overdone as is often the case in restaurants. Pate home made and very tasty as was the pudding. My companions who had... More

Lovely, warm welcoming environment on a cold foggy evening. However, we were positioned in the darts board area with 4 other diners. It was cold, unwelcoming and not in the least bit romantic! Our candles weren't lit and we had the darts board spotlight in our eyes. The table was booked for 7.30pm and by 8.40pm we were finally served... More

I have eaten here on two previous occasions and could not fault it then so perhaps we were unlucky today. However having chosen beer battered mushrooms stuffed with Stilton the experience was less than pleasant. Over battered, tasteless and greasy, the food was more greasy spoon than good pub grub. My husband fared no better with a massive bread bun... More

We have visited this pub over the years and it has been a bit 'up and down', however we went back again 15th November and had a gorgeous meal, so will be visiting again very soon. In the winter they have a real fire which is a nice touch and although it is a small pub they do not cram... More

Traditional Inn, cosy, bijou and warm. Good quality food and Ale. Friendly service. Probably too small for large groups or families but there is a very large room attached that would be ideal for parties, work do's etc.
