Good yet again

Been here several times but not for a while. Came in with a group of friends following a walk within the area. Bar service a little slow at times but generally, the friendliness & the good quality & range of food is excellent. I've eaten at other Vintage Inns and have always enjoyed going to them... read more

Late Sunday lunch (6-ish in the afternoon) here after a delayed drive back from Devon, the place was absolutely packed but service quite prompt and mains served within 20minutes of ordering. Certainly upto the usual Vintage Inns standard and no complaints. Very handy for Gordano services on the M5 too.

We decided to try The Priory on word of mouth! Overall it was a bit disappointing. The two graze items and the starters were really quite good, unfortunately the Main meals left a lot to be desired! I had the Hunters Chicken with the 'supposedly' Gourmet Chips! The piece of smoked cheese was straight out of a packet of cheese... More

The Priory has improved a lot recently. The food is fabulous and service excellent. Great ambiance as always. The fish pie is full of delicous salmon, cod haddock and shrimp with creamy crushed potato topping. Chicken and leek pie has a super puff pastry top. Great place to eat, lunch or dinner, and catch up with friends or enjoy a... More

We visited last night and the starters were incredible. Standard fare of chicken liver pate and a Brie to dip but they were well prepared with some heat tastes and accompaniments. Unfortunately the mains weren't great, nothing bad but the pie had about 20% of the filling you would expect and the sticky chicken pizza was beef and a bit... More

We went along Friday evening for a meal and drinks. Got a good table just after 7pm without booking - nice! Good range of beer and lager and, the food was very good. My wife enjoyed the ribs on the special menu and I and a colleague quite liked the beef burger. The sustainable fish and chips was also enjoyed... More

My husband and I visited The Priory for the first time this week. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and liked the overall decor and cosy feel of the pub. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable of the full menu and specials. I particularly liked the option to have coffee with a mini dessert, which you don't get in a... More

Visited here for birthday lunch - last Time I came here was about 18 years ago and boy has it changed - food was superb - couldn't fault it / good price and range. As for the puddings - well we had to share as too stuffed for one each. Will Be visiting here again soon and Can't wait.

Went for a quick meal with family. We did book a table, but there wasn't any need. The menu is varied, it's pretty normal "pub food" but is was well cooked and presented. The price was about right too. Not the least expensive I've come accords, but certainly not the most expensive. Food came quickly, but we didn't ever feel... More

At one time The Priory sprang immediately to mind for a good pub meal - those days have gone, as have the regular friendly, efficient management, bar and serving staff. The prices are a rip-off, my local pub / restaurant serves decent wine for under £9, the Priory charges £16! The starters took over half an hour to arrive, despite... More
