Not consistent

I would like to say this place is good but I have to say it's average as it's just not consistent in its service. I've had really good meals here and also poor meals, but most are just average. Often this pub is chosen by the family to meet at as its well located off the M5, so equal... read more

We went to this place as we were in Bristol with our daughter and decided to meet for lunch with a couple of my wifes relations. Initial impressions were that it was a very nice likeable place with a nice garden. We ordered our food and I wife had a "warm chicken and bacon sandwich served with cos lettuce and... More

Pretty good food but massively understaffed on a Saturday evening. 20 mins to even get seen and even then because we asked! Better places locally so easy to swap. One waitress was awesome and did her very best but rest of the staff almost seemed that they didn't want to serve customers. Will be holding off going back.

We normally go to the Priory on Sunday as their roast platter for 2 it is very good,if not a little expensive, the only problem on Sundays you can't book which makes it a bit of a scrummage. Anyway for a change we went early on a Wednesday night, it wasn't very busy and seemed that the table next to... More

I have been trying to call you for days to book a table and this is not the first time, you do not answer the phone, you have now missed out on a table of 10. The windmill here we come!

Travelling from Cornwall today back to Manchester decided to stop off at Priory which we have visited any times in the past. Was really shocked whe first walked in to be met by bar full of dirty glasses, tables left uncleared or clearly not wiped down. Ordered food and waited patiently for food, which has in the past been amazing!... More

Haven't been to the Priory for a while. I have always liked the place but it was always bit hit or miss at busy times as to how long you would wait for a table. Now they accept bookings we booked for a Saturday evening and went with some friends. I really liked the place. Nice and warm, attentive staff,... More

Thursday 12/03/15. We were visiting the area to see family and they chose The Priory as it's local to them and they'd been there once or twice before. The reservation, made well in advance, could not be found, but no matter they eventually gave us a nice table after a bit of a wait. Prosecco and wine by the glass... More

As a Vintage Inn, you know that the food will be good, varied and not too expensive. Not the easiest place to find although it is very close to the M5 (Portishaed junction) and has reasonable off- and on-street parking. A good varirty of beers and ciders, and most tables are in the bar. Cosy atmosphere and warm in mid-winter.... More

Food was fine well cooked and service was both helpful and friendly. Part of Vintage inns which can be hit and miss but The Priory seemed well managed and was busy for a Monday lunch time. Would visit again
