It looks like the pub has recently been refurbished and to a high standard, nice garden out the back and front and a decent selection of beers. We went in on a Tuesday night and it was busy, clearly a popular spot, we didn’t realise until we looked at the menu that it is a chain pub. The... read more

We liked the layout and garden but the food was quantity not quality ... Will not return in a hurry . We had the butchers tasting platter starter where the pie was completely broken up on the plate , the salad filled the rest of the plate ... With no dressing or care at all .

What fabulous food and service. Went to Marco Pierre White at Double Tree Hilton and what a absolute difference i Would much rather pay for Dinner here than at that shambles. The food came out hot it was cooked very well, all 3 meals including dessert, the service was outstanding, friendly, helpful and attentive. Well done Guys. Marco learn something.

I have been eating extremely good food at the Priory for over ten years including two lovely Christmas dinners with family and friends and have recommended this venue to numerous friends over the years - but the latest visit left us a party of eight bitterly disappointed - gone except from one lady was the once warm friendly welcoming staff... We have had nice food here always but have been disappointed in seating, booking for two and at times staff reception. Giving it another go we were very impressed....but it was a quiet Sunday evening....my steak was the best I have ever eaten. However we had to pay one pound extra for thick chips but not told it was extra! Also... More

Just back from the Priory and cooking my own meal. We arrived and were shown to a table and ordered drinks. We both chose the burger one with chips the other with salad. When the meals arrived we both tasted them and both our burgers were luke warm. I spoke to a female member of staff who was very appologetic.... More

When we are travelling up and down the M5 back home to Cornwall from the afar we try and make a bee line for the Priory for a comfort Brest. We have always found staff helpful and accommodating and the food quality has never let us down. Well done the Priory.

Visited before but not eaten. Went for Sunday Dinner and we shared the Special Sunday Lunch Platter - fantastic. 3 meats, beautiful gravy and excellent value for money. A great meal, one of the best 'roasts' I have eaten 'out'. We chose the Sharing Sweet as well and it was absolutely marvellous. Give the Peanut Butter Cheese Cake a try... More

Trip Advisor in their star rating for reviewers offer 3 stars which is Average to four stars which is Very Good to five stars which is Excellent. I would put this pub in between three and four. Menu satisfactory but on the occasion of our visit something seemed to be lacking in terms of ambience and service.
