A nice building in a lovely part of the world. I had a gigantic home made burger with BBQ sauce. The choice of ales was a real let down and my BBQ sauce was too sweet for my liking and the service was really poor for a Monday lunchtime. Together these three cost it a star for me but it... More

Just off the main North South Norwich to Ipswich Roman road. Make the effort it'll be worth it, the food on both our visits was delicious and plentiful, excellent host and staff, very attentive. Booking suggested, particularly Monday, Friday and Saturday. Reputedly the oldest Inn in Suffolk, the interior is worth a really good look.

We have driven past the Four Horseshoes dozens of times over the years and always thought how welcoming this pub looked. At last, with family members, we arranged a meal for six of us. The inside is just as attractive as the outside. The beer is well kept with three real ales on draft when we visited and there is... More

Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend. A wonderful "chocolate box picture setting". Firstly the restaurant and bar - we ate here both evenings. The atmosphere is typically oldy worldy english pub with beautiful beams and even a well in the restaurant area. Being in Suffolk nice to have the Aspall cider on draught and a good... More

A really warm welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We were 34 for lunch. They gave us a room to ourselves for drinks the our own room for the meal. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The meal was well cooked. For me, the quantities are just too much. I would prefer smaller portions but I guess other people enjoy... More

Get that olde English feel the minute you walk in and you even have to watch your head in spots with the low ceilings. Great food. Without reservations you may end up at a very odd table with what must have been seats original to the inn.

We stayed in a lovely cottage just along the road from the four horseshoes and on arrival after a long journey popped down for some supper - the pub is a quintessential English coaching inn which could adorn any picture postcard promoting suffolk with lovely flowers all along the front - inside lovely beams and loads of snug corners with... I went with a friend for lunch. We were so pleased that the menu had small and large portions. It meant that we could enjoy a dessert too. (Although some of the desserts were a little pricey - especially for a lunch menu). Staff very helpful and willing. Food delicious - we both had fresh fish and it was very... More

Jesus F******g Wept . . . A direct quote from a colleague on staying at The Four Horseshoes. The constant boredom and monotony of working away from home was delightfully relieved during my stay at The Four Horseshoes. The atmosphere, food and wonderful service from the top class staff made it a home away from home, and I often found... More
