Attractive location with so much potential

My mother and I walked from Zug along the lake to the next village of Cham to have lunch. Villa Vilette lies in a stunning botanic garden. The restaurant has a flowered decked terrace from which you can view the lake and enjoy the garden. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not match the... read more

The last Sunday of March was one of those 'heaven-sent' sunny days in Europe when outdoors is really a joy! We visited this historic, lake-side villa (formerly a country getaway for Zurich financiers!) to see an exhibition supposedly of Swiss design..but it included lots of ITALIAN pasta/coffe'n'condiments (???) & so bemused, we nonetheless decided to take in the stunning view... This place is lovely but the lady who takes your orders is really unwelcoming, she wanted to charge my husband for a glass of tap water even though we had ordered ice creams and I had ordered sparkling water. View is lovely, ice cream nicely presented but overall not worth it. I'd go to the small restaurant near the mini... More

I went there to celebrate the anniversary with my wife with very high expectations: amazing location, creative cousin, sophisticated atmosphere! Unfortunately only the location met the expectations, while the food was average (presentation is not everything! what about the taste!) and the service was absolutely below the standards! Therefore my recommendation is not to waste your money on dining there,... More

The woman who runs this place has to be the rudest woman I have ever met in a Restaurant. We were there three weeks ago and she was quite terse, but the other staff and food were good. So we decided to go back again yesterday. We asked for a table near the park, as we had the first time... More

The Villette is a Mansion in a huge park directly at the lake of Zug in the city of Cham. I'd recommend going on an afternoon and drink tea there or have an ice cream. You'll feel set back to the 19th century, also because no cars are allowed in the park (but it's still easy to reach).
