Pity, it was ok but it's gone bust and is a pub again. In fact the whole town is going south fast. The pub opposite (White Swan?) is closed as is the once good Kings Head, which doesn't even do meals anymore. Shame

Looking for a take away around Kirkbrmoorside, and read the reviews, so tried The Green Chilli. A nice welcome, and we ordered a fairly straightforward meal for 4. It was not busy, and i didn't see loads of people picking up meals either. One hour later we finally left with our box of goodies. The food is ok, but I... More

Heard good reviews about this restaurant and on the whole we enjoyed the food, however there were just a few things that weren't that great. The popodoms were slightly stale, the starter and main course were tasty, although all three tasted very similar despite having quite different descriptions in the menu. The service was slow and although a wine list... More

My husband and myself visited this restuarant which was located next door to our hotel. It fairly occupied but we were not waiting long before we were seated. The food and service was excellent and we were surprized at how resonable the prices were when the bill came. The staff were friendly and attentive and genuinely interested in their customers.

On our last day in the moors and a little bored with local pub food we decided to drop into Kirbymoorside. The village has a couple of pubs, fish and chip shops and a takeaway Indian, so we popped into the green chilli. There were probably only half a dozen people in on a Friday night which is always worrying... More

A bad choice. As soon as we sat down we noticed the entire table surface was sticky (not cleaned properly) and one of the menus was stuck together witth some food. It was freezing cold and I kept my fleece on. After poppadums with watered down nondescript "pickles", i.e. watered down runny mango chutney, watery minty yoghurt, old chopped onions,... More

Had to do a late job in Kirkbymoorside, so thought ... company's buying tea, wonder what Kirby has to offer. So stopped off at home on the way up Sutton Bank (White Horse worth a visit), picked up the lady wife and the two dogs, (Millie, Westie and Max, Scotty) and headed up to Kirkbymoorside, for a dog walk whilst... A traditional indian in a rural country market town. Service was very good along with the food. I ordered a sizzling dish and it was very nicely presented. Whilst this isnt the best indian in the area, its by no means the worst and I would return.
