The Lion Inn Pride themselves (Pride - get it!) on serving the more undiscerning customer and are far and away in a class of their own. There were so many things wrong that I can't list them all, so as a favour to the Inn I have developed a new menu for them. Enjoy :) STARTERS Prawn Cocktail Freshly bought... More

The Lion Inn to me is the best pub i have ever visited, the friendly staff, the warm atmosphere (especially when the fires are lit) This pub is so welcoming, as soon as you walk through the doors you are home! you approach the bar to find an enormous array of beers, lagers, and ciders, then there is the food.... AWFUL does not even begin to describe this horrendous experience. We drove over forty miles for a special occasion ... memories of enjoying a visit long ago making us plan this way. What a bad, wrong, regrettable decision that was. The food was awful. I don't care how much is on my plate if I don't like any of it.... More

Every time I go back to my home links in Yorkshire, I visit the Lion Inn. This is of the most welcome oasis on a cold, windy and often snowy North Yorkshire Moors. Saying that I have also visited in the height of Summer and it is great then too. The food is good pub grub with plenty of selection... More

Having spent the day driving around the moors, driving through countless villages trying to find somewhere to have lunch, and being told sorry we've stopped serving lunch. We carried on driving...... We stumbled across The Lion Inn, the car park was almost full & hoped they did food. Wow, what a place!!! It's located at the top of The Yorkshire... More

Wow!!! First time I'd been here despite living in ryedale all my life! At first looks the menu seems expensive however when our meal arrived the size was more than worth the price. My partner had gammon with home made chips pineapple and huge side salad. I had the pork fillet with carrots peas and potato croquettes. The meal was... More

Six of us had lunch and a few drinks here when doing the Coast to Coast walk. It was a perfect day weather-wise and the beer garden (and car-park) was packed. The whole place was very busy but we did not have to wait too long for our food. The food was good quality pub fair and everyone enjoyed their... More

Parked in Rosedale and walked up and had lunch outside. Special location, lovely traditional pub inside, sandwiches good value with chips great in midst of walk, good beer and cider

After reading the reviews we were really looking forward to dining here but sadly we were very disappointed. The service and welcome we received from the barman and waitresses was excellent and the décor was beautiful but that is where the dream came to an end! My husband had the vegetable Kiev, which proved dry and tasteless, but he managed... More

Have been a semi-regular here for a number of years now and not once have I been disappointed. The food is as outstanding as the service. We went on a Sunday, and it was pretty busy so I'd recommend phoning up and booking a table if there are more than two of you. There is plenty of parking available and... More
