We ended up at this place by chance but we didn't regret it all! Service was ok and the menu was not very extensive. But if you go there definitely try out something from the grill! Chicken and spare ribs were really tasty and we enjoyed it to the last bite! Relaxed atmosphere especially in a summer evening in the... More

I agree with previous reviewers who described the kitschy atmosphere. It is a reasonably pleasant environment, but the food is essentially slop - pre-cooked meat swimming in over-salted gravy. we have been here a few times, for dinner and lunch and the staff are lovely and the food excellent. really good value, great atmosphere. the fires were buring brightly when we were there in October which made it cosy and romantic. The only criticism was we felt a little rushed, but the food was just wonderful.... Go for the... More

The Grotto Pan Perdu is at the end of the center part of Carona. You climb up the stairs and enter in a world of its own: It is almost kitsch, but looks nice with all the decorated tables, the big fire place where the meat is being grilled and the pergola on top of them. Swiss Italian (Ticino) music... More
