Not very good

Beckington is not a place you would come to for restaurants so we were eating where we could. We did not enjoy it. The food took a very long time to come and when it did it wasn't great. Eventually we gave up waiting for service to have a pudding, paid and left. The lady apologised and said... read more

We recently dined here one afternoon for a family get together We were taken to our table and drinks were ordered to the waitress before ordering our meals. All the food was very nice and freshly cooked. Most of the staff were nice and friendly. Just one thing to point out is i wish when a spirit is ordered with... More

Stopped at the Woolpack en route to Bath at lunchtime on Saturday. Both of us had rump steak - cooked to perfection! Love their chunky chips, too. Ended our meal with chocolate fudge cake and vanilla icecream - delicious. Will definitely be going back there!

The Woolpack is a nice enough place to stop for lunch after a winter walk but then it's nice to sit down anywhere after a winter walk. I had cod loin with kale and potatoes, nicely served with the sauce in a little jug, but both the fish and the kale were quite tough. So, nice overall really, rather than... More

The meals were strongly recommended but turned out to be very disappointing. No real understanding of gluten free and just removing chutney and poppadoms is not good enough. I was hungry after some Thai rice and a supposedly curry sauce with chicken and vegetables, (did it comer out of a jar?). My friend's chicken was dry and the chips tasted... More

Not the most extensive menu. I opted for the mixed grill which was nice and big but a little cold and not cooked raw as I requested.

Excellent friendly staff food very good excellent breakfast. Room spacious we had the superior room clean could do with a little talc. Radiator did not turn off so we were a little too warm at night but apart from that we were more than satisfied. Bath just 35 mins drive so we had a very enjoyable stay with plenty of... More

Have been to the Woolpack several times for lunch and also took a party of over 30 people there for an evening before Christmas. Staff are all delightful and accommodating and food is always hot and very well presented. Their two course lunch for £7.99 and £9.99 Mon to Friday is excellent value for Monday. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We took my mother in law out for lunch here New Years day. The pub wasn't particularly busy, but we were greeted and served at the bar by friendly staff. The menu had a good choice. The food arrived promptly, was hot, well presented and very tasty. The portion size was just right. Thanks very, much - we'll be back
