Good Food with a Sea View

Met friends for an evening out. Food was very good and plenty of it! The Restaurant caters mainly in fresh fish, but as a great choice of meat dishes and a good vegetarian choice. A very romantic atmosphere, with wonderful views of New Quay Harbour. A must if visiting New Quay

Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The service is always great and a good selection of tasty food. Views across the bay are excellent.

This is a lovely and small restaurant that looks out over the harbour. The food is largely fish based but with enough of a choice to satisfy meat eaters and the understanding vegetarian. The quality of the food is good, not exceptional, but very well prepared and very tasty. The views outside, if the weather is good enough, make for... More

We visited the Hungry Trout on 5 April. It has a great location and we were able to have a window seat: the service was the best part of the meal. We had scallops and moules mariniere as starters. Both were ok, but no more than that. The bread was nice. I had the sea bream, which was good, but... More

Although the sun was not shining when we visited the views from the bay windows or beer terrace must be fantastic in the sun. Breakfast was good value with quality ingredients and generous portions. Good service too.

Lovely food and worth the money. I had the lamb which was great and my partner had the cod which apparently was beautiful. All topped off with great service as demonstrated when we were leaving. It started to rain and we were offered the loan of an umbrella for our walk back.

Brilliant! We ate here twice last weekend. They catered for our daughter who is Coeliac amazingly. Gluten free bread rolls, separate cauliflower cheese, homemade Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The treacle tart was also gluten free. She loved it. Will definitely go back.

We ate at The Hungry Trout for my birthday, although it was very quiet as it was November and we were the only diners we enjoyed the meal very much. It was comfortable and friendly.

All was going well with our lunch until we started eating the accompanying salad and found it very sandy and gritty. One of our party found a large piece of grit or growing medium in his salad. To be entirely fair, when we pointed this out the cost of his meal was immediately deducted from the bill with no argument... More
