Way up on the rooftop, overlooking McLeod Ganj and the mountains, a taste treat awaits. Yes, waiting is part of the story as everything is cooked just for you, but their Tandoor is superb and while you wait you can sip a lime-soda-honey. Especially liked the tikki masala paneer and some wonderful hollowed out potato stuffed with cheese, nuts and... More

Too much oil and a certain homogenous flavor to things, this isn't bad for indian food but it isn't all it's made out to be. Even a Sky Pie in Bhagsu can beat it hands down.

I expected this hotel to have nice food as its one of the few restaurants that looked nice. But the food was ok. Their veg biryani was not good at all and the Nans were without butter.

Amazing Indian non vegetarian food. Had butter chicken which was good. The mutton curry was excellent .tandoori rotis were good too. The pricing was pretty reasonable. Surprisingly the staff was extremely non hospitable. It seems that they do not want guests. Ignore this if you can for good food.

After visiting the temple on our first day to McLeodGanj, my friends and I had lunch at the Ashoka. For starters, we ordered the chicken spring rolls and shnitzel (Israeli dish of chicken breast dipped in bread crumbs and golden fried). The rolls were OK while the schnitzel was nothing like its namesake. For the main course we had a... More

Complements to the chef....awesome food and quite fast. The guy in the white cap has got a MAJOR attitude problem but forgivable as the food is so good. You also have to pay a super price....one of the most expensive in the area. Use it as a treat; one visit would be plenty!

Ashoka is one of the higher-end eating establishments in Mcleod, which is reflected in the 150-200 rupee cost of most of the meals. It's a large restaurant with 4-5 floors including some rooftop seating, making it one of the highest locations in town to have a kingfisher beer and a meal. The chana masala is very tasty and very spicy,... More

Very good place to have Indian food at mcleodganj. We went to this place after we were tired of having pizzas, pastas and Tibetan food and really enjoyed the home like food we were served with.
