We have visited this place for many years and have always had an excellent meal and great hospitality. The waitress/owner was very welcoming and not intrusive at all. We sat outside overlooking the sea as it was such a sunny warm day. The food was faultless and absolutely delicious washed down with great wine! We all thoroughly enjoyed it! Look... More

We stopped here for morning coffee and biscuits, sadly all we could manage as we were leaving Scotland that day and the Boathouse is only open between Thursday and Sunday. The view was amazing over the loch, and we sat outside. We will definitely come back to eat lunch or dinner, this has to be best setting for a restaurant!

On a sunny day, the location is probably worth a visit to The Boathouse, sitting as it does overlooking a couple of stunning corries and a beautiful loch. However, more typical conditions mean that a repeat visit is going to need good food and friendly service is needed. The Boathouse has both in spades: most of the food is local... More

Good simple local ingredients served in a friendly and open atmosphere. If you're looking for a taste of the local larder then the menu and specials will have something for everyone. Clientele is an eclectic mix of walkers, sailors and locals. Lots of stories and cross table chatting. Just go and have a nice meal with friendly folk.

Only managed one evening meal and one morning coffee during our stay nearby but from our experience can happily recommend The Boathouse. We were with our daughter and two grandsons (6 years and 8 months) and whereas some places don't welcome children this certainly wasn't the case here. The food was lovely, service efficient and unobtrusive.

I've been to this restaurant 4 times now, and each time the service and the food have got worse. There are very limited options in the Ardgour area for a classy place to eat, but even so, my heart sank when my friends suggested taking me and my partner out for lunch to The Boathouse for a joint birthday celebration.... We ate at the Boathouse twice on our visit to Kingairloch and it would have been three times if they had not been fully booked on a Thursday evening which took us by surprise and really says everything about the restaurant. It is a real asset to the estate both from the quality of the food served and the friendliness... More

We sat outside on the decking and looked down the loch, beautiful! It looked like rain but we sat outside as long as we could because of the view. The food was excellent, my husband and I shared a fish platter it was great as was the venison which followed. Very friendly place,

Open Thursday - Sunday, we were able to use wifi here, have morning coffee and enjoy lunch. Friendly, responsive service and great views. Children could fish off the pier. Food was fresh an local - fantastic quality - wish we could have afforded dinner! Wine list looks good. We would have come back in evenings if price was right. Great... More

We stumbled across the boathouse by chance and we were not disappointed , possibly one of the prettiest locations in Scotland with views down the loch, the food spoke for itself in choice , presentation and taste , honest local fayre offering good value the scallops and pannacotta were my favourites, can't wait to return
