If you like a Dutch pub food place go to this cafe annex pub annex restaurant . Genuine old fashioned ( but great ) menu with generous portions and reasonable prices

Nice, cozy interior - slow service - if their French Onion soup is any indication of their cooking skill than 2 stars would be an overstatement. Being busy at the time we were directed towards the bar (a tactic used in most countries) waited 20...minutes for a table although there were empty tables in evidence - waited another 10 minutes - and only upon request - were handed the menu. Another 10 minutes went by for someone to take our order. When requesting a drink that we learned to enjoy on our German part of our tour we were told (although with a smile) that we were in Holland now. All in all, one of our less enjoyable dinners while travelling Holland.More

Sorry to hear you had a dissapointing experience. Hearing this, we should have explained better why we didn't have a table ready for you right away, and we will put some thought into this. Thank you for the review.

Stayed in Bloemendaal for a business trip and found this close to my hotel. Really great food, especially the steak and mixed grill. Cheesecake was delicious. Highly recommend this place and I'll definitely be back on my next business trip.

This place was recommended to us by the staff at the hotel we were staying at. The weather was perfect for sitting outside and it was a great place to relax after a days travelling or site seeing. They have a varied selection of beers...and wines and the food was excellent and plentiful. It did appear to be a locals establishment and was always busy on the two occasions we visited. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The only drawback hence not 5 stars was the length of time it took get a food menu for some reason they were only produced at their own pace even if you requested one on arrival. Never mind our evenings there were enjoyable and as long as you are prepared to wait for food then I recommend a visit.More

We went here on the recommendation of the hotel receptionist, and ended up going back for a second visit. The weather was pleasant enough for us to sit outside and the food was excellent. I really enjoyed the veggie Flammkuchen, which is similar to a...light pizza, but minus the tomato sauce. The salad was very good too. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the service seems to move at a set pace - they'll seat you and offer you drinks, then come back and offer you some bread to start, and even if you ask to see the menus during this time, they'll only bring them when they want to. Maybe they had to hunt around for English menus for us, I don't know, but it was the same both nights. If you don't mind waiting, it's a really great place.More

Nice drinks, nice food from the lunch card, pleasent service from all the waitresses, classic ambiance like it was 40 years ago when I was still living in Bloemendaal.

In a nice atmosphere we celebrate the birthday of our grandson. The children enjoy their pancakes and the elder people select from the card. The food tasted nice with a good glas of wine. The location inside as wel outside was busy. The personnel is...friendly and the service was quick. Recommendable to spent your time for a nice outing.More

We eat there often, it is a short walk from our home in Holland. Wonderful local atmosphere, great brews. I have the slip tongs, my daughter has the stews, breaded veal cuttles are enough for two.

Visited here for a lunchtime drink on Koningsdag (Kings Day). It was quite busy, with a vibrant atmosphere. A traditional old pub style bar/restaurant. We didn't eat, but the food being served looked good. Has an outside seating area. Service was good, friendly staff. Walls...are filled with old maps and pictures - very atmospheric. Enjoyable visit.More
