Having moved to Wickford recently we wanted to try each of the three main Indian restaurants in town. Luckily for us we thoroughly enjoyed all three but found the Blue Chutney to be the best. We visited on a midweek night, the staff were attentive but not intrusive. The decor is nice although if it had been very busy I... More

Having used this restaurant for takeaways for years we have seen a steady decline which culminated in our final order in March where the order was wrong and the bits that were correct tasted very bad. Plenty of other options locally to try

A table for 10 people that was booked some time ago resulted in 10 people arriving but with only room for 9 of us at the table. We asked for another chair but was told all seats were reserved, and there were no other seats available. We ended up being squeezed onto a bench seat until later on in the... More

A large group of friends visited this restaurant last night for a tribute night. Evening started really well. Starters came out quickly and was very nice but had to wait ages for our main courses as it appeared they had been forgotten and we had to reorder! Main courses were nice but cold! We were all ordering our drinks at... More

This is typical of the 'modern take' on Indian restaurants, with very few of the classic trappings and decor - me? I like the stereotype Indian feel of some restaurants - so this feels more like a canteen. However, the food is good and the service friendly

I cannot think of anything nice to say about this place. If was freezing cold inside, I kept my coat on all evening. We got our drinks and popadoms fairly quickly. But then waited about 45 minutes for our meal's when they arrived they were only lukewarm, and everything had the same base taste, some no one really knew what... More

When we first moved to Wickford we used to order Indian food from the local take-away. A friend recommended The Blue Chutney and we decided to give it a go. The difference was startling. The food is gorgeous with loads of flavour and the Chicken Chat Puri is the best I have had anywhere. The mid-week meal deal for two... More
