We visited Grosmont on the 12/7/14 on the fantastic steam railway. There were 8 of us,four adults and four young children,we arrived at the railway tavern and were greeted by the jolly landlord. We had lunch which was very well cooked, hot, and very nice. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. It was a pleasant experience and one which we would repeat again.Thank you.

We stopped here whilst touring the North Yorkshire Moors. What a delight it was to sample their homemade steak pie with mash and veg. Washed down with a delicious pint of Black Sheep Bitter. Sitting outside watching the odd steam engine trundle by on the North York Moors railway passed a pleasant hour or so.

Good pub grub and plenty of it. A perfect spot for steam enthusiasts as the trains pass by as you eat.

Visited with family food was ordered one hour later food still had not arrived .... Being typical British family thought it would arrive eventually sadly had to question where the order was when a couple who arrived 50 minutes after us were served. Would not return here hope the food is worth the wait ...

Visited on Sunday 22nd June as we were out walking in Heartbeat Country and as we had been here before for a meal we thought we would eat there again, wish we hadn't. It now seems to be the local haunt for the young of the area and the bar was being propped up by foul mouthed youths. Even the... More

I dined here on two night. On the first I enjoyed a very tasty steak pie & chips that was quite reasonably priced. Although the pastry was a little dry for my taste, there was an excellent gravy with it that more than made up. On the second night, there was no chef - so no food. However the gentleman... More

Recently taken over by Nick, the new Landlord. I can't fault The Station Tavern. I booked the family en-suite room and the single room also, just for one night. The cost was very reasonable. The rooms were very comfortable, warm and clean, bathrooms clean too. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, lovely full English. I will... More
