The place to be

On the main square, eat in our out, the ultimate Sanlucar tapas bar. It's deservedly popular, it's cheap, it's excellent. Staff are busy but still attentive. Salmorejo, tortillas de cameron, try anything, you will not regret it. Don't miss it.

We have been here three times over ten years, and Balbino is always on of the best tapas bars around. Nothing newfangled, just well done traditional tapas. One observation from this past visit: I seem to recall that the Tortillas de Camarones, that they are famous for, in the past were smaller, and the portion included around 6 of the... More

So far, this has to be the best tapas we’ve had in Spain. The short version – there’s nothing to not like about this place. Later in the evenings and weekends it’s hopping, mostly with locals. It came highly recommended by the sales guys in a local clothes shop and was right on the money. The range and variety of... More

Super tapas spot, excellent service, good wine. Generous portions and nice staff. Very clean, close to the action, great atmosphere on Halloween night.

Okay, The overwhelming opinion appears to be one of enormous popularity. Fine if you like your "tapas" in a colourful and atmospheric square. What's not to like? During any kind of holiday or fiesta time you will be lucky to find a table. If you do find one (and it will probably be covered with the previous occupants mess) then... More

this is (rightly) the busiest bar in town. Its terrace is patrolled by prospective customers looking for tables! Inside its standing room only, and the huge staff are serving 10 at a time, while keeping all theo rders in their heads (and on the bar top)! Renowned for its huge variety of seafood - especially the tortita de camarones!

A top location for a real Spanish tapas experience. They offer a huge variety of tapas or raciones and all come in a good quality. On top the atmosphere is noisy and busy like on a food market.

My friends took me here for a tapas lunch. They wanted me to try my favourite tapa here as Casa Balbino make supposedly legendary Tortillas de Camarones - fritters of tiny shrimp dipped in a super light, tempura-like batter and deep fried. Oh my goodness! They were right! Delicious. I'm salivating now just thinking about them...you love food? then you... More
