A top location for a real Spanish tapas experience. They offer a huge variety of tapas or raciones and all come in a good quality. On top the atmosphere is noisy and busy like on a food market.

My friends took me here for a tapas lunch. They wanted me to try my favourite tapa here as Casa Balbino make supposedly legendary Tortillas de Camarones - fritters of tiny shrimp dipped in a super light, tempura-like batter and deep fried. Oh my goodness! They were right! Delicious. I'm salivating now just thinking about them...you love food? then you... More

This should be No. 1. On Trip Advisor. It was filled with memorabilia. Full of atmosphere, people. The staff behind the bar were so helpful even though they were very very busy. We ordered lots and lots of delicious tapas, plus an exquisite bottle of red. All for less than 10 euros a head. How do they do it!! We... More

Plaza de Cabildo. Very busy, so be patient. Probably best for tapas. They have a terrace but I think you will have to slip the waiter some cash to get a table! I would recommend the Vino o Viña de Carmen, a nice light, slightly sweet sparkling wine. Refreshing. And you have to get the Tortillitas de Camarones, lightly battered shrimp... More

An excelente Experience and really unexpensive. You have to ask for the food you want in the bar, do not expect then waiters outside to do much. Worth going!!!!

Trying to get a table at the terrace is quite a game, but then the real challenge starts (if you speak hardly any Spanish). There is no waiter at your table: get in line at the counter! Perhaps the best strategy is to look what other people are having and then ask what it is called. This way you can... More

This is probably the busiest restaurant that we have experienced. There are a huge number of staff catering very well for an enormous demand. The self service system works very well (probably the only option for such a high turnover). It is amazing how the staff remember the multiple orders that they each handle at any one time. The tapa... More

Going to Sanlúcar de Barrameda without visiting Casa Balbino is like going to Paris and not visiting the Tour Eiffel: unheard! As far as my wife and I are concerned, this must be the best tapas bar on the planet. A vast variety of fresh tapas are on offer, of course, there are the classic tapas but I'd lijke to... More

Just dropped in at lunch time for a quick tapa and manzanilla. The tapa selection inside at the bar is very good. I chose the marinaded pulpo with onion, which was excellent, as was the manzanilla which accompanied it.
