4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2014 NEW

We went here for our wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the night. The food was very good and thoroughly enjoyable, although one starter was bizarre- served in a glass pyramid. The only reasons that i would not give this a 5 star, is due to a slightly pretentious atmosphere and the waiting staff who could have been more helpful. Its... More

Would I go back here? No. To be fair, pleasant surroundings in bright conservatory setting. We were told we could simply order from the a la carte rather than the full menu. In the end, two had the menu and two had two courses. Perhaps they had had bad news that morning but the wait staff made us feel as... More

We recently moved near to Duras and had my parents staying with us from England. As it was Mothers' Day, we took them to the Hostellerie for Sunday lunch - the first time we had been. I had booked a couple of weeks before and mentioned my father was in a wheelchair - often a problem in France - and... More

We have now tried twice the €14 3 course meal including coffee: such an excellent value for money! The same refinement as in the evenings: thick wipe table clothe, nice plates and cutlery, great service. There is less choice of food, 2 starters and Mains but excellent French cuisine and presentation. An absolute must!

Good food and if you don't speak French, they try to help, some speak a little English. French decor and quite cosy.

I've eaten here twice in the last year whilst visiting my brother who lives close by, and frequents the Hotel des Ducs often and really rates it. I have to say that I do too. The service and food are excellent, typically French, and accompanied by a very good list of local, and more diverse French, wines. The value for... More

Excellent food in a very nice setting. Very formal service, refined presentation. the cheapest menu when we went was 28 euros, plus wine. Worth it as the dining experience is great. Because we live locally the only let down is that the menu does not vary much. Well worth a visit to taste some good local cuisine and experience traditional... More
