Excellent dinner

We had a simple dinner with friends; we arrived without a reservation but were given a table without hesitation and judging by how busy they became within an hour we were very lucky! We picked the middle range table d'hote menu which was 3 courses with amuse bouche, a sorbet and coffee; the local... read more

We stayed in this hotel and restaurant for over 2 weeks whilst work was done on our house. We ate a different menu every evening as the owners took trouble to ensure we had variety. Breakfast was good as well as dinner. The presentation and quality were excellent. I recommend the house cocktail which is a secret recipe and is... More

We recently visited Hostellerie des Ducs on a family holiday to France. This restaurant was recommended by the owners of the house we were renting. First impression were good when we booked although the person taking the booking seemed a little disinterested. The food was of very good standard, was interesting and excellently presented. Each course was well thought out... More

Dinner x4 adults - we all had totally different menus which they accommodated well. The lamb was a definite highlight. Puddings were a bit 1960s and old fashioned. Setting is slightly odd - feels like time has stood still for 20 years as does the food. Was a perfectly lovely evening with good service and good food.

We have eaten many times at this excellent restaurant. As always the quality and service were great. This review is to record how good the fixed price lunch time menu at 15 euros was. Even with a bottle of wine and coffees the total bill was only 50 euros - great value!!!!!

Nine of us visited here for a food experience and we weren't disappointed. The menu was up to standard just like the old days. We mostly ordered from the cheaper menu which was very well presented and executed. I certainly would love to go back and try the menu gastronomique.

We went here for our wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the night. The food was very good and thoroughly enjoyable, although one starter was bizarre- served in a glass pyramid. The only reasons that i would not give this a 5 star, is due to a slightly pretentious atmosphere and the waiting staff who could have been more helpful. Its... More

Would I go back here? No. To be fair, pleasant surroundings in bright conservatory setting. We were told we could simply order from the a la carte rather than the full menu. In the end, two had the menu and two had two courses. Perhaps they had had bad news that morning but the wait staff made us feel as... More

We recently moved near to Duras and had my parents staying with us from England. As it was Mothers' Day, we took them to the Hostellerie for Sunday lunch - the first time we had been. I had booked a couple of weeks before and mentioned my father was in a wheelchair - often a problem in France - and... More
