Great

Went here for my mum's birthday. It was just the 2 of us, early evening. Service was attentive and friendly and the food was just great! I had the 'drunken bull' very well cooked with lots of flavor. Mum had beer battered fish, chips and mushy peas. The batter melted in the mouth. The dining room... read more

Went for Sunday lunch and will go back for an evening meal from the A la Carte. Mainly because the lunch was good but cooked from a chef's perspective not a 'Sunday lunch customer' one (e.g. Using Sirloin instead of Rib for the beef - good but not the 'authentic' Sunday lunch meal). The starter was good and the dessert... More

Eight cousins and their partners from near and overseas met for Sunday lunch, the room where we were seated was just the right size with a door to the outdoor seating and garden with a bouncy castle for children. The only downside was because there was a bench seat all along one wall our tables were set horse shoe style meaning... We popped into this pub on Bank Holiday Monday and on first impressions it looked very nice but the bar area was poorly managed and was piled high with plates. We moved round to the seating area in the restaurant which looked nice although yet again there glasses and plates on the bar which the staff had removed from the... More

We have just had a family Sunday lunch. It was excellent. The food was well presented, tasty, and good portions. The choices were amazingly good too. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I just wish we lived a lot nearer!

We travel to this traditional pub a few times each year and are never disappointed. The menu has several good British staples and some "cheffy" dishes, meaning there is something for everyone. I always judge pub food by the standard of the burger sold - The Oak's is obviously home made, very substantial with home made onion rings and good... More

Mothers Day Fantastic food, wonderful service, great value. On a very busy day standards were high. We had a little wait for our table but well worth the wait. Very tasty Thai fish cakes with oriental vegetables and chilli jam followed by the most succulent lamb shank (with probably the best gravy I have tasted) with vegetables followed by a... More

Cosy, warm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Excellent food and fantastic menu. We cannot say enough good things about this place! So pleased to have discovered it. The staff are brilliant and the chefs are great. We've now been in for drinks, parties, New Year meals and romantic dinners and each time we have been well looked after and had a... More

I visited the Oak inn, for a friends birthday, as the restaurant had been recommended to us. We were not disappointed- if you are looking for a good night, with excellent food and a great atmosphere, you cannot go wrong. Thanks.

Organised a surprise birthday meal for 26 people, restaurant couldn't have been more helpful from start to finish. The food was excellent, I have eaten here before and just happened to mention a certain dessert which we liked. Although it wasn't on the menu, they did offer to make it for us, these are the touches which make a good... More
