Dined here with my wife, very lucky to get a table with only 1 day's notice. Had a great time. Took the "feed us" option and every dish was sublime: particularly liked the steak tartare, navarin of lamb and creme brulee. Greta menu, will go back again soon.

Walk up dark Greeves Street towards the sculptured hedges and the bright yellow door - the place speaks style before you even walk in. But the treasure is behind the yellow door. We shared a Beetroot Salad, the Mussels, the Casoulet and an Endive and Orange Salad. All were superb. Food of this quality required a bottle of Champagne from... More

Duck rillettes are fantastic. Overall top food, great atmosphere and good service - even when busy - which seems to be always!

Went here in a group of 12 for a work function. Great restaurant, service was good and the muscles were to die for. Most likely be back in the future.

I would have reviewed this place the same day - it was so good! But Trip Advisor wanted a minimum of 100 characters, and for once, I didn't need that many words! EVERYTHING about our visit was amazing, from start to finish. Food. Wine. Service. Ambience. SENSATIONAL. Months later, I am still dreaming about it and plotting my return. If... More

this is a seriously good modern bistro - great food and service while pulling off the quirky but cool chique

Have been here twice now - once for a lazy long Sunday lunch and another for a Friday dinner. The first occasion on Sunday - the service was a bit slow even though there were only 4 other tables of 2 to wait on. I had to ask for the wine list and water after being seated for over 10... More

I took one of my occasional trips to the Dark Side (ie, north of the Yarra) for Sunday lunch today. The restaurant of choice was Hell of the North tucked away in Greeves Street, Fitzroy, in a black, converted terrace house just off Smith Street. Inside is even more elegant than out. The front and back walls are blue stone... More

Just a short stroll off of Smith Street is a hidden gem. The food, service and ambience typifies the best Melbourne has to offer. We are never disappointed coming here. Mark and his crew always make your experience enjoyable whether you are there for a special event or just dropping in for a drink. Make the effort to fix the... More

Seriously nice food. One might call it modern French. As good as I've had anywhere and hard to fault in any respect. The food also seemed very reasonably priced to us. The wine was where the money seemed to be. We really liked the ambience of the place. It's quite stylish and nicely appointed. The service varied a tad between... More
