Very rainy night and the staff wiped us down with cloths! Very nice touch.

Restaurant was lovely with very attentive staff, great wine list and wonderful food. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful night despite the weather being so dreadful.

Went with some friends who are great fans of (at regulars at) the Town Hall Hotel. Can't say I left with their sense of enthusiasm. It was a busy Friday night and the room was crowded and noisy. All the same, service was efficient and friendly. I had the gnocchi, which was excellent, though your choices are limited if you... More

Was very good - change of owner and chef- expensive pub food. Mainly steak based menu with significant variation in cuts of meat - little choice for vegetarians. Limited wine list. Very disappointing.

Went on the basis of The Age Good Food Guide review where it received one hat. The food lived up to the hat but ambience and service were pretty average. If you go thinking it is just a good local pub you'll probably be very happy. They ran out of shiraz by the glass and could only offer a chianti... More

It was a long time coming to visit this quaint little gem. Had seen various articles on this venue both online and in Facebook feeds. (One of the upsides of social media ). We made the trip up from Geelong via train and tram and were pleasantly surprised when entering, to be greeted by the chef (Harry Lilai) himself, followed... More

I've eaten here many times and like many reviewers, always appreciated the food. This time was a very special occasion and the Town Hall Hotel was my choice of venue. But ...too many people crowded into a smallish room made for an uncomfortably high noise level, and food delivery came at a glacial pace: entrees arrived after we had been... More

We popped in the a long lunch, and we were all very impressed. Lovely service and ambience and outstanding food. The Gnocchi was to die for; the steak was perfectly cooked and a great piece of meat. I also tried the duck and the pork and both were wonderful. The chocolate 'fondant' was really one of the best I've had... More

We just dropped in here after a full day of shopping. Was impressed. The staff are amazing, we only had snacks and a couple of beers, but would definately go back here to have a meal next time we are in Melbourne

2nd time I have been here, with a group of people. Was not disappointed. Had 11 of us, interesting menu, with additional specials. All the food was excellent, just a couple of little things, my oysters, beautiful and fresh, but were not released from their shell, bit of a dig to get them out. The pork dish was a bit... More

The Town Hall is one of our regulars. It's great for a quick meal in the bar, very reasonable prices and interesting menu. For a dining experience in the restaurant the menu offers many choices. Really good pasta, delicious bacala, Good specials every day. Decent, but not great wine list. Harry the chef and owner is always seen rushing around,... More
