I've eaten here many times and like many reviewers, always appreciated the food. This time was a very special occasion and the Town Hall Hotel was my choice of venue. But ...too many people crowded into a smallish room made for an uncomfortably high noise level, and food delivery came at a glacial pace: entrees arrived after we had been... More

We popped in the a long lunch, and we were all very impressed. Lovely service and ambience and outstanding food. The Gnocchi was to die for; the steak was perfectly cooked and a great piece of meat. I also tried the duck and the pork and both were wonderful. The chocolate 'fondant' was really one of the best I've had... More

We just dropped in here after a full day of shopping. Was impressed. The staff are amazing, we only had snacks and a couple of beers, but would definately go back here to have a meal next time we are in Melbourne

2nd time I have been here, with a group of people. Was not disappointed. Had 11 of us, interesting menu, with additional specials. All the food was excellent, just a couple of little things, my oysters, beautiful and fresh, but were not released from their shell, bit of a dig to get them out. The pork dish was a bit... More

The Town Hall is one of our regulars. It's great for a quick meal in the bar, very reasonable prices and interesting menu. For a dining experience in the restaurant the menu offers many choices. Really good pasta, delicious bacala, Good specials every day. Decent, but not great wine list. Harry the chef and owner is always seen rushing around,... More

Inner city Fitzroy leads the way with understated elegance. Ambience perfect with enough surrounding noise to create atmosphere but still hold a civilised conversation. A creative menu. Not too long and not too short. A variety of well explained "specials". The presentation and quality of the food lived up to the description. The cocktails are contemporary and stylish. Service staff... More

Lovely Sunday Lunch here for four people, all meals were just delicious and the pasta is a huge highlight beautiful hand made fresh tasty pasta with simple sauces to compliment very impressed. Two of our party had scampi pasta, one gnocchi and one calamari, all brilliant. Side of crispy polenta also fantastic. You can have main or entrée sized pastas... More

Excellent meal with very attentive Yorkshire food/drink server. Food excellent , wine list comprehensive, reasonable value. Restaurant tastefully decorated maintaining Art Deco original style. Tables well spaced absence of music permits conversation and business discussion . Parking an issue although one block away North ample 2 Hour spaces (no meters)

Not all that exciting, but an interesting modification to an old Fitzroy pub. Reasonable lunch menu and wine list. Food was good. I didn't pay the bill, so I can't comment on value, sorry.
