Description: Welcome to Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel! Fresh new life has been pumped into...
Welcome to Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel! Fresh new life has been pumped into this classic public house by chef Sean Donovan and his team. A series of cosy and intimate beautifully curated spaces offering a wide range of drinking and dining experiences have been created. The venue offers four distinct areas, a traditional yet stylish public bar complete with vintage tiling, wood panelling and a snug offering premium craft beverages and casual dining spaces. The bistro dining room has a hunting lodge feel with rich tartans, textured wallpaper and ambient lighting alongside a juxtaposing light, green and lush conservatory feel dining area. Exclusive private dining is offered in the old wine cellar and is perfect for a range of special occasions from intimate wedding parties to corporate events. The upstairs level has been restored to its former glory to offer a flexible and accommodating space. This gorgeous area will cater to dining, functions, bar and lounge areas and access to the balcony which overlooks Johnson Street. Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel offers a variety of generous, quality driven, unpretentious dining experiences as well as accommodating those who simply wish to come in, pull up a bar stool and enjoy a nice cold beer! Our menu focuses on seasonal, fresh, artisan ingredients with a European flavour. Premium beef and seafood, smokey wood bbq and rotisserie echo Donovan's rustic and generous yet finessed style of cooking. Ultimately our goal is to recreate the ambiance of the quintessential corner pub that offers excellent food with Donovan's well-known generosity in portions and flavour.

It is out there but failed to connect with us

I could paraphrase this review by saying my Wife and I dined there yesterday. She had a glass of champagne and a couple of glasses of red. I had a glass of Riesling and a glass of red. We shared a charcuterie platter which was excellent. I had a fish stew that cost $42.00 and she had a Hanger... read more

Been here a few times now. This pub ticks all the boxes. Has a great feel to it as soon as you walk in. Staff are on point and know what they are talking about. Great wine list and good beer selection, but the star of the show is the menu. The steaks are amazing. You get what you pay... More

Living in Prahran I'm spoilt for choice. Unfortunately at this time of year a lot of my favourite restaurants are closed for the holiday season. So myself and my BFF decided to try somewhere new for our annual Xmas & New Year dinner, and wow what a great decision. The Town Hall Hotel is better than we thought it would... More

This "foodie" pub has changed hands recently. We dropped in for lunch and were impressed to find a nice menu, great beers on tap and a solid wine list. The owner seems to have a steady hand and there was an air of professionalism about the place, a degree of surety, of experience, that we found assuring. The kitchen was... More

Had an unreal steak -- flavorful, juicy, and perfectly portioned-- and a fresh scallop. Service was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about wine pairings. Ambience is inviting and great for group dinners. Would definitely return!

If you are looking for an unpretentious, reasonably priced [upper], delicious pub meal then this is the place!! The menu is a excellent selection of traditional meals with innovative interpretations that leave no diner disappointed across all courses. Fresh, delicious and plentiful. We were a large group and to a person everyone enjoyed their meal...the wines [chosen by one of... More

We went there expecting Italian. (Mislead by a friend). We were definitely not dissapointed. Started with 3 entrees to share amongst 4 and all 3 were divine. Main meals then came and whislt not huge the serving sizes were adequate as the flavours, presentation and tastes were superb. They have a really good local beer selection on tap to boot.... More

It is so annoying when you decide to go somewhere based on a bit of research including what they might have on their menu. Then to find by Sunday night, that more than two dishes are no longer available. Service was friendly and trying hard. But it simply needs to 'serve' the customer.

Ate there last night with some mates. Nice menu with a few different dishes like ox tongue and black pudding( really good). Very nice selection of cold meats. Steaks were good. Thought prices of food were good for quality and also some under $40 wines unusual for a restaurant of this quality in Melbourne. Have beer happy hour 4pm to... More

Restaurant was lovely with very attentive staff, great wine list and wonderful food. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a wonderful night despite the weather being so dreadful.
