Many of the roads in Labin cross at the square where Velo Kafe is located in a characteristic building. If you can get a table on the covered terrace (the first floor), then you'll have the most lovely place for lunch or dinner. The staff is very friiendly - I was impressed by the waiter / sommelier who explained to... More

We had brunch here twice and it was wonderful each time. I had the chocolate crepes the first time. It was nothing special, but good. The second time we sat on the balcony which had a broader selection. I had the pasta with truffles. Great! My friends had grilled calamari, pork skewers, and salad. All were great. A definite stop... We visited the restaurant on our trip through Istria. I read several reviews and had some expectations, but I was a bit disappointed when we arrived there. The toilets are definitely in need of renovation, there was no soap in the ladies' room, the restaurant is placed in the basement, it has some charming elements, but there is some space... More

We had both lunch and dinner here on the balcony overlooking the town square. Great big salads for lunch: Tuna salad and Caesar salad with eggs, also a nice plate of cheese with a delicious sliced pear. For dinner we had Green gnocchi made with nettles, with smoked salmon and cream sauce, and homemade noodles with radicchio and skuta (like... More

It is situated on the square of old town Labin. Waiters are nice and speak bunch of languages. The place is good for a coffe break, and eat good ice cream.

Stopped at Velo Kafe because a vegan friend had recommended their ice cream. Indeed they're the only ones having a vegan kind, after I had tried to find sherbet at other places without any success. Velo Kafe has a "pure dark chocolate" ice cream that is vegan and excellent tasting. My partner ate another kind of ice cream with hazelnuts... More

Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while staying in nearby Rabac. Worth the drive and SO much better than the touristy waterfront restaurant where we dined last night. Homemade pasta with truffle sauce, sea bass filet with white wine sauce and veggie medallions, and pasta carbonara were all absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. Possibly the best meal of our... More
