Absolutely delicious. Cannot fault a thing. We treated 8 of our friends to a meal last night in this gem of a restaurant. Food service and atmosphere all superb. We ate Fish, scampi with all the trimmings and the puddings are to die for. Massive helpings. Highly recommend the toffee meringue and banoffee tart. Don't think twice about going. Book... More

Had a meal with the family at La Mirage today. Staff (Lorraine, Don and Margaret) most pleasant, friendly and inviting - banterful. Very fast service overall. Quality of food surpasses that of what a 'chippy' is thought to be - brilliant. Love the decor - this is one thing that makes La Mirage very unique. Portions large for the price... More

This fish restaurant is worth every penny. I was forewarned not to have a large one so, I had the normal. I had two fish, chips, peas, bread and butter with a pot of tea. I could not eat anything for the rest of the day. Would not hesitate to go again.

We first went to La Mirage in 2010 after recommendation from my parents who stayed at Brora for several summers. Our first impression then was that it was querky, huge portions and yes, margarine on the bread. This trip to Helmsdale came 4 years later and I can put my hand on my heart and say it is the best... The seafood platter, which has to be ordered one day in advance, is just amazing. The seafood selection is so fresh and I have yet to find better anywhere. There is enough food to feed 4. The service at the restaurant is very attentive without being intrusive.

One of the best veggie burger meals I have ever had. You have to be very hungry to eat everything on your plate, as the portions are very big. Would recommend it and will be back on my next visit to Helmsdale.

Visited the La mirage on Christmas Eve, we were very disappointed after reading trip advisors reviews. Food was poor, portions were large. Cheeseburger would have been tasty if it wasn't for the thick layer of cheap margarine that resembled mayo as there was so much on the top of the burger. The waitress was pleasant, but unfortunately we were put... More

I have been a patron of this restaurant for twenty years. However, over the past year I feel that standards are no longer what they used to be. In addition, prices have risen and quantities shrunk. On my last visit I had a bag of chips from the takeaway section. I paid £2.75 for a tiny portion of chips that... More
