Wonderful service, great food and lovely setting

I visited the Crannag bistro yesterday evening and had a fantastic night from start to finish. Ian was a great host, allowing us time to enjoy a leisurely drink at the bar - whilst offering expert gin tips - before showing us to our table. We visited the Crannag on a wild December night and were the only party there, so bad was the weather. But we five were glad we made the effort to drive down from Brora. Food was very good - interesting, innovative and tasty service friendly and attentive. I had picked this off the website because of the intimate atmosphere and... More

Just returned from another great night at the Crannag. This time we visited on one of their special themed evening, a Korean night. Have never tasted Korean food before and this 6 course tasting menu was a brilliant way to experience new tastes . All food was good quality , great tasting and cooked and served to perfection by Ian... More

We are delighted to review this highlands rare little jewel. In the last Ocotober, we have been stricken by the deliciuos goodies we tasted in a warm casual-chic atmosphere attended by a fantastic maitre with fine good humor and experteness. We deep enjoyed every single morsel, a real experience of flavor balance and tasty surprises in wich you can sense... More

Ian and Kathy have done it again! My daughter and I visited on the 17th - as is fast becoming a tradition when she comes up from London to spend a week with me - and as she said, "It just keeps getting better and better". A wonderful themed evening, this time based on pork, the dishes were so different... More

I've previously written a review but somehow it didn't make it onto the site. I felt strongly enough to do it over. As we arrived, one of my group commented on the signage, suggesting we go elsewhere, but I had done my homework, and prevailed. 4 golfers from New York aren't easy to please but Ian won us over quickly.... Thank you for going out of your way to visit us at the Crannag and for your very kind review. The external look we are going for is ‘shabby chic’ which is bang on trend in Bonar Bridge. The external temperature variances play havoc with our sign letters (ranging from -25°C in the winter to 25°C in the summer) and... More

Had yet another wonderful evening at CB. The Cullin Skink was perfect, the lamb devine and the music (classic blues and R&B) fabulous. This is simply a lovely, inviting relaxing restaurant with genuine charm

This September we visited the Crannag on our annual fishing trip dinner , and as ever it didn't fail to impress. We were greeted warmly by theowner Ian by name, a nice touch. Quickly settled in at the bar and choose our meal from the menu. As usual all meals were made using local produce and there were several specials... More
