Excellent

Had a lovely meal here on last night of land's end to John o groats cycle ride. The proprietor was only too keen to offer his excellent advice on the scotch whiskies from not just the local area but all over Scotland. The cheese souffle really was superb and the steak was cooked to perfection. A... read more

We were recommended this place by a B&B owner as being worth the extra journey from Lairg. We booked by phone on recommendation - presumably it gets busy. The bistro is right on the main street through Bonar Bridge -it has an attractive outside appearance and bright, modern decor inside. There is a small bar area at the rear slightly... More

What a superb place the Crannag Bistro is - the food is beautifully created by people who really care about ingredients and taste on top of that it has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I was fortunate enough to be given a delicious curry not on the menu - one of the best I have tasted in a very long... More

We had a lovely meal here in April. I will have to return just for the cheese soufflet with chilli. The owner was very friendly and informative and encouraged the (teenaged) children's interest in food, teaching us about Onglet steak (which was very flavoursome). His wife came out of the kitchen to explain how the caramelised pineapple was done.

We ate here with two friends who live locally and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The wine selection was excellent and the dishes were just that wee bit different. Good local ingredients with a bit of a twist which made the evening all the more memorable.

My husband and I dined here recently, on a Wednesday evening, whilst staying in Lairg. I have to say that I have absolutely no complaints about the food which was very nice but the 'process' seemed a bit odd to us and didn't make for a particularly enjoyable dining experience. When we arrived there were two other couples at the... More

We are disheartened that you did not enjoy your evening with us as much as you should have done. On the night in question Ian was unable to look after front of house, and at short notice our young waitress stepped in and coped on her own - doing very well considering the number of tables we had. We often... More

Had a meal here in May 2015. Good menu and selection of drinks, including beers. Was impressed by the (not too loud) music playing and the conversation with the owner. Food was excellent - as others have mentioned the cheese souffle is exceedingly good. The other dishes were very good as well.

Glad you enjoyed the craic and the souffle! Our eclectic choice of music certainly appeals to people of a certain age and youthful disposition and seems to aid digestion. Thank you so much for your lovely review! Hope to see you again soon. More
