We went to the Crannag Bistro for a family birthday. the atmosphere was lovely and the welcome genuinely warm. The meal was simply amazing . The onglet steak is expensive but well worth the money. Well if you want a blend of classic and modern dishes in a great atmosphere this is the place for you. From Scallops to cheese cakes, there is great variety and flavours through out the dishes on offer. Don't go anywhere else to eat on your trop north!

This bistro does not look much from the outside, but it is well worth the visit! The host is welcoming and the menu small (a good sign!) and had some tasty offerings. The scallops were perfectly cooked and in fact all of our food was most enjoyable. There isn't a great deal of choice regarding wine by the glass but... More

As a stopover on our road northwards we did not have any expectations regarding eating in Bonar Bridge. Much to our surprise we got overwhelmed by the skilled cooking and generous ambience in this little bistrot in the middle of nowhere. Ian made us feel as part of the famlily and guided us through the meal from entree to dessert.... More

I'd been wanting to try the Crannag for some time but had never had the time until now as my visits home are always fleeting. Finally last week, we got the chance and my parter took my Mum here for a belated Birthday meal. We could not have asked for a better evening. The food was amazing! As soon as... More

A great menu with a variety of dishes from around the world as well as Scottish and made from local produce as far as possible. The meals were excellent, house wine very good and all served in a welcoming atmosphere by friendly and helpful staff who are enthusiastic about what is on offer. Great to be a "local" to this... We had checked reviews for restaurants in Sutherland and Crannag had consistently good reviews so we knew we would try it while we were staying at Eagle's Crag at The Alladale Wilderness Reserve. Met and exceeded our already reasonably high expectations. Two of us went in the first night and ordered off the menu. Cheese souffle was a total stand... More

Fabulous food, so glad we made the 50 mile round trip to get there. Highly recommend the scallops for a starter and such great value for money! We will definitely be vack

We went on the recommendation of the owner of our holiday cottage. We like to eat early and were the first there but the place soon filled up. The restaurant is not large so I recommend booking. The bar has a good range of local craft beers (mostly bottled) with one on draft and a wide selection of good whiskey.... More
