My mum had a voucher for £10 off when you spend £40 so we went for a family Sunday dinner. I tried to ring a number of times to make a reservation but had no answer, finally got through on the Sunday morning about 11am, was meet with a sightly, hassled person who stated well we are pretty busy today,... Met up with a friend for tea at 4.00 on Friday. Very disappointed with choices/menu for that time of day. Most places have tea-time specials, but not here. Food was lovely, but at £18.50 for 2 courses and coffee would think twice about returning.

Having passed this many times over the years while travelling on business, my husband and I called in last summer as we were hot, hungry and desperate to give the dogs a break. What a treasure! It's adjacent to a Premier Inn which was what had previously put me off, but desperate times and all that!! The car park is... More

.....but not enough substance to back it up. I've never eaten here before, and we went for Sunday lunch. It's a lovely looking place; very 'smart country pub', and the staff who served us were friendly and helpful, and very efficient. When they brought the food out, it looked really good, but unfortunately the eating wasn't as good. I had... More

Visited as a party of 18. Great staff, clean and very presentable place. Kitchen coped very well considering there was at least 50 seats with bums on. I had roast beef sunday lunch, roast spuds, tiny amount of veg, i small piece of broccoli, cauliflower and 3 slices of carrot. Roast beef wasn't very good, tasteless to be honest. Others... More

My wife and I decided on the spur to have a meal out and the Cross Keys is a five minute drive away. It is a pleasant environment and the staff are always cheerful and helpful. We had the disadvantage of being in the same area as an extremely loud party of eight, which didn't help. Nevertheless, the meal was... More

Went for a last minute meal for 4 on 27.6.2014 , didn't make a reservation but chanced our arm. Food arrived quickly with service second to none. Staff really attentive and the food did not disappoint, would seriously recommend if you fancy a tea time meal

Excellent staff provided a good meal, very friendly and helpful we couldn't have asked for more. All five of our meals were good, arriving fresh and hot at the table. Better variety than some Whitbread chain pubs, overall a nice night out!

Went in here on a Saturday lunch time, there was only one table of two in and no waitresses or bar staff around. We waited about 15 minutes before someone noticed we were stood at the bar waiting to be served. Food took a long timw considering there was only us in but was ok. Won't be going back in... More

Visited here again recently and this place has yet to disappoint. Lots of choice on the Menu's including specials etc. Staff were pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable which added to the lovely relaxed atmosphere. Food was great and excellent value too, no doubt we will be back soon.
