Late lunch

we have visited numerous times before and it has been nice. However this time, when we started to look at the menu we were disappointed as it was quite limited and didn't offer much choice to the three adults and three children in our group. When I asked the waiter if we could adapt one of the meal options he... More

Although I am a regular visitor to the keys I must say it never fails to impress me.. Firstly , the staff here are always polite and friendly and one always gets the impression that they are actually interested in their customers, pretty rare these days. Secondly, the place is always immaculate and they always seem to be doing new... More

Usually had a good time at the keys but unfortunately on this occasion the service was appallingly slow. Arrived at 1:50 for a late lunch. The food was bland especially the southern fried chicken and had to wait so long between courses. Quite surprised as normally had good service. Not sure what went wrong today though. Very disappointing.

A relaxed affair, plenty of choice from a varied menu and decent wine list. From inexpensive to something abit special - it's all there, and the children's menu is a pleasant surprise too. Always enjoy our time there and the staff are a friendly bunch who actually care. Well done guys - top marks all the way.

I booked The Keys for the home leg of my Daughters Hen Party so we could invite some of the older Family and Friends who were unable to attend Liverpool. I and the 25 people booked more than agreed that this was truly the best afternoon tea we had ever had (and we have had a few). The staff were... More

We decided to have 'tea' out as it was a warm evening and picked the keys, our regular spot. We decided to have the 3 course teatime menu for £13.95, which is very good value for money. The spiced carrot soup was excellent, even if the bread was a bit odd, the whitest softest 'baguette' bread I've ever had. The... More

Good morning RoseD, Thank you very much for your recent review of The Keys. Sorry that we disappointed with the choice of the catch of the day but hopefully the Salmon was tasty enough that this was excused. As you say we do provide great value for money on the teatime menu which is perhaps why there were not enough... More

A restaurant I like to visit knowing drinks, food and service will always be of the same consistent high standards I have come to expect from The Keys, Yarm. And if the sun is shining the beer garden is a must! A lovely furnished sun catcher!
