This pub/restraint was very good value for money with a good varied menu. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you want the tables with a castle view I would suggest you book.

We live about five mins walk from here but I'd never eaten here. Will be going back for more. The duck was excellent. Service was great. It's a tad on the expensive side but it's a bit more than pub grub.

My wife and I are here on Thursday evening. It was not very busy. Food was exceptional and the service was superb. Food was piping hot, well cooked and I can recommend the duck as a main course. We are going to eat here again.

Called in, without a reservation on a Saturday night, not long before the end of service. Although the restaurant was busy, we were found a table, and the staff were efficient and courteous. Service was prompt, and the food, (and beer,) excellent;- extensive menu and choice of specials. As "locals" we will definitely make this a regular venue.

We ate here twice during a weeks holiday in Deganwy and both times the meal was excellent, very good sized portions and well presented tasty food. We were also lucky enough to get the window seat with an excellent view of the castle the second time which was an added bonus. We found the staff extremely friendly and the service... More

A month ago we enjoyed eating here and so we again chose the special offer between 5.30 and 7.30 on Wednesdays - steak at a reasonable price - however we were disappointed this time as the steak wasn't anywhere near as succulent as the last time. The pepper sauce was also disappointing it seemed to be watered down. When we... More

Had a good meal here this evening. We did not have a reservation but it was early so we had no trouble being seated. Between us we had steak, lasagna, fish and the burger. All meals were tasty and nicely presented. Portions were large. The wait staff were extremely polite and accommodating. Would recommend.

The castle view was very small and cosy. The food was average, atmosphere lacked due to staff (5)socialising by the bar and also very eager to end our dinning experience. Shame could have been so much better.

Thank you for taking the time to review. We are sorry that you found our food to be average, however we do include on our menus some classic dish's and our customers usual feedback is that we are far from average. We are normally too busy for the staff to socialise and this would not normally be the case. However... More

We were staying in Deganwy and as this is the only pub/ restaurant in the area thought we would give it a try. The pub was quite busy but we were found a table in the Snug. My husband had the steak pie which he said was okay but didn't have very much steak in. I had the pork fillet... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. The steak and ale pie is one of our best sellers, we portion 8oz of prime beef filling in each pie and at £12.95 we believe it represents good value. Our ingredients and suppliers are all locally sourced, so freshly prepared dishes always cost that little bit more and we... More
