A friendly local

We ventured here on a Sunday night after finding the Abbot's Fireside Closed, hence we did feel a little overdressed but the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed and the place was very busy. Our cycling group had lunch at the Kings Arms today. It's located in the square of this pretty village in the heart of Kent. There's a large and well tended garden with plenty of tables and parasols. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. I had the Seniors menu at £7.50 and chose roast lamb with all the trimmings,... More

Really pleased with the friendly service, and very generous portions. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Salmon was light and very tasty, and my Tikka was just right. Puddings were just as filling and certainly not shy on the portion size. Very nice experience and highly recommended.

Just been here and enjoyed my first visit here. Staff were very welcoming and polite. Went on a Tuesday which has a 'Buy one get one half price' deal running. Which is very good value for money. I had the cottage pie which was a very good sized portion and the other half had the lasagne, which was also a... More

We used this as a halfway lunch point on a circular walk on my birthday around the lovely Elham valley. The restaurant was full but we were happy to eat in the bar area. The steak and ale pie was substantial but average but the roast lamb was good. The service was pleasant but slow, but became almost non existent... More

We went here for Easter Sunday lunch and had booked a table for seven in advance. There was a very busy bar at the front with a restaurant seating area at the back. They served good real ale. The menu had a traditional Sunday roast as well other choices. Some of us had starters and most had desserts. The food... More

This is a lovely 16th century inn in the heart of this delightful village, on the square opposite the church. It's bigger than it looks from the outside. There is a cosy bar area at the front with an extensive restaurant behind and a beer garden outside. We came here for lunch after a walk through the surrounding countryside. The... More

Took the whole family along for Mothers Day dinner. Quick, friendly service and food that let you clear your plate, but best of all was that the prices for Mothers Day dinner remained the same as last week and the month before. No price hike at the Kings Arms on a special occasion and they also catered for young children

This is a 16th century pub with a small bar at the front and a larger dining area at the rear. It is in a quiet location on Elham's village square, opposite the church. It's a free house so the cask beer varies, but is well kept. The menu is varied with something to suit all tastes, augmented by daily... More
