We had high hopes about The Bell and went for an evening meal to check it out before booking for a large family celebration. When we entered the bar area ahead of sitting down, we were asked by the lady behind the bar what we would like to drink. I asked for a glass of white wine, expecting to be... More

The Bell's restaurant area is quite small, so it's best to reserve by ringing ahead, but with all home-cooked food and huge portions, plus daily specials, it's difficult to choose what to eat.The pub is popular with the (very welcoming) locals, and has a lively atmosphere (as well as a lovely suntrap of a garden)...and as if that weren't enough, the... Another visit to a delightful pub set almost in the middle of nowhere. Great staff and owners and amazing home cooked food. The Pork Shank was succulent beyond belief. Great choice of Ale and Ciders. Hige, and I mean huge roaring log powered range fire in the Winter.

When we entered the pub it was nice to see a good crowd of local people enjoying a drink. It gave a lively atmosphere to the pub. The menu had some interesting things on it, lots to choose from and a change from the usual pub food. I had liver and onions, the first time for years and it was... More

What a gem.Went here last Friday and we were really impressed.Very clean especially the toilets.Food was lovely and good sized portions. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Only negative point is that they don't take payment by a card for anything under £10,this is the only reason that we don't rate this with top scores.

Old pub in a small village, but with a big and justified reputation. Excellent selection of real British beers at the bar, and a landlord who really knows how to keep them and serve them correctly. We ate here and the food is good British home cooking, well cooked and well served. It might not be Cordon Bleu, but it... More

The Bell is a lovely, old world pub with great atmosphere and good food and we are so lucky it is our local! Friendly bar staff and superb landlords ensure that the place is well run and very welcoming. The food is standard pub grub cooked well and nicely presented. With live music at the weekends, an annual Beer festival... More

I've been to this pub on numerous occasions but never to eat. We weren't disappointed with cottage pie and steak and cheddar pie. It's not fancy but tasty. Friendly pub with good service
