Old pub in a small village, but with a big and justified reputation. Excellent selection of real British beers at the bar, and a landlord who really knows how to keep them and serve them correctly. We ate here and the food is good British home cooking, well cooked and well served. It might not be Cordon Bleu, but it... More

The Bell is a lovely, old world pub with great atmosphere and good food and we are so lucky it is our local! Friendly bar staff and superb landlords ensure that the place is well run and very welcoming. The food is standard pub grub cooked well and nicely presented. With live music at the weekends, an annual Beer festival... More

I've been to this pub on numerous occasions but never to eat. We weren't disappointed with cottage pie and steak and cheddar pie. It's not fancy but tasty. Friendly pub with good service

... else there won't be enough beer left for the rest of us! This excellent establishment located in the middle of nowhere on the Romney Marsh would probably be the best pub in the world if Carlsberg owned it. Fortunately, they don't - Mark and Vanda do though. They've just racked up 7 years in the hot seat and it... More

We went to the Bell as a group of 30 friends, and the food was excellent, good value, and piping hot. My lamb shank was £9.50 and came with separate dishes of new potatoes and vegetables. The beers were also excellent value, and the service first rate as well. The setting, in the village centre next to the church, was... More

Once again I have had a really good meal and evening at this wonderful local pub with my husband and two friends. The food is always hot, freshly cooked and tasty. My two favourite dishes are lamb shank and lambs liver. The waitresses are always a happy bunch, along with the owners and bar staff. The atmosphere is always welcoming... More

I had the braised lamb shank which was not properly defrosted before it was cooked (microwaved). The consistency therefore was not like braised meat but much firmer. It was also unsettlingly red towards the bone. By the time i realised i should not be eating this i had had about a third of it, leaving the remainder. The atmosphere of... More

Visit this pub quite often and have never been disappointed with the food, service, atmosphere or cleanliness. This is a well-run pub and reading other reviews has slightly shocked me as I feel that although customers are entitled to their opinions, the pub they are describing is not the one I visit!! I do wonder if some people are just... More
