This place used to be the best place in West Kirby until 6 months or so ago. Since then customers have got the feeling that they are being taken for granted. The service has always been a bit slow but most regulars accept that. Come on - bring back the cheerful non grudging service!

Great place, 3rd visit, everything fresh, buzzing atmosphere. Friendly staff and independent. If you want fresh food at the right temperature (inc the salad) then you have to wait for it. Very very good value and thoroughly recommended.

This was an impulse meal at the Sweet Pea Cafe. We were on our way for for a curry when we decided to try it, and managed to secure the last available table. The venue is a bit bohemian and the menu more imaginative than other places. It was a bit chilly by the window nearest the door, but it... More

A lovely little cafe that we pop into from time to time for a sausage/bacon sandwich and a cuppa. A great place to meet family for breakfast. Never had an issue.

While visiting the U.K. this summer our friends from West Kirby treated us to an evening at the Sweet Pea. WOW! My daughter who is normally quite picky claims to have had the best meal of her life. We all wanted to lick our plates. The service was amazing. We'd fly across the pond from Nova Scotia just to have... More

Fab food, great hosting... this small intimate evening venue offers just whats needed after a hectic day. The varied selection of wines and gourmet dishes are reasonably priced but I would recommend phoning first to ensure a table.

This remains my favourite drop in haunt for a coffee, or occasionally a light lunch; it has a laid back air about it: somewhat more continental than English - recently I found myself discussing modern English poetry with a retired university lecturer at the next table. Do not expect fast food or service; this is a place to read, discuss,... More

Have been here a number of times and it is always very good, although -due to its popularity - it can become crowded. It has a quirky charm.

Always enjoyed breakfast here, and the best coffee in town, so thought we would try the new evening menu. After a long day at work I fancied some good home cooked/fresh food with a casual laid back ambience. Sweet Pea was just the ticket (good choice made by me!). The vibe was relaxed and casual but service was attentive. The... More

2nd visit here and well worth it again. Very friendly service great atmosphere and superb food, I had the Greek salad, excellent quality produce, tasty and well presented. Huge pot of tea for 3! Great to see hard working independent cafe thriving in a world being taken over by Costa!
