Having to find somewhere to celebrate my 50th birthday with my family which was not over powering in size and where I knew the food was going to be excellent, I knew straight away the restaurant to choose. I have eaten here on a lunchtime on a couple of occasions and the food was excellent then too. The staff at... More

what a joy this was on a sunny afternoon, celebrating 2 friends' birthdays. Even though we were using PG Tips Cuppa Club vouchers, we were treated the same as if we were paying full price for our tea. The service was excellent, the setting lovely and food delicious. I am gluten intolerant which can be a real problem, especially in... More

This is a small hotel, which has very friendly but professional staff. Not one part of this hotel could I complain about. We had a very nice afternoon tea in beautiful garden, with exceptional service, nothing was too much trouble, one of our group has an allergy, they took so much trouble caring for her, she felt they went out... We went to the New Year Diner Dance, we had been before and felt it was a satisfactory venue with good service. However his year we thought the menu was poor for a special night and the evening lacked any atmosphere. There was a disco which would of been better replaced by live music especially as the cost of the evening... More

14 of descended upon the Carriages Restaurant today for our annual staff get together. Everyone seemed very happy with both the service and the food. I don't eat meat, wheat or dairy this caused absolutely no problem for staff at all - I was offered everything from Gluten free rolls to dairy free butter and then to top it off... More

Living locally tried this hotel and was amazed at the excellent quality not only of the food but also of the service. We had all our needs met complimented by highly professional and friendly staff. It is certainly a place we will visit again and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who would like a special dinning experience... More

The food was excellent and plentiful in a rather surprising way. We were attending a party for 25 people in a private function room, and we were very surprised at just how good the food was. Also the staff were very helpful in finding a fan when I asked them and setting it up speedily near the people who needed... More

Our first visit. My boyfriend travels a lot due to business and I tag along. We are usually disappointed of hotel food and quite frankly, very much tired of it. When I asked at the front desk for recommendations about restaurants in the area I felt I have punched someone in the face. She so graciously advised that Alveston is... More

To my mind easily the best restaurant in the Bristol area. Access is direct from A38. Parking is free and easy,The decor is extremely tasteful. Service is exceptional. Prices are very reasonable. But most importantly, in over four years, and at least 50 visits, my wife and I have never had a poor meal. Currently AA 1 rosette, deserves 2.
