Great night

Went here with 7 friends, lovely old pub full of charm and character, we had the Thai banquet which was absolutely superb, full of flavour and looked good as well all for £16 each which I thought was really good value. Staff were all really friendly and good at what they did, we were looked after... read more

I feel the comment left by domharris is inappropriate The Old Rydon is a great friendly welcoming pub and should not be slandered on a public website. Yes myself and the party i was with had a few drinks on a Friday evening at our local pub. we can assure you we did not attend to upset anyone and we... More

After a long day we decided we would have a change and wow, we walked in and how cosy and warm it was. We didn't eat but it is on our list. Whilst there I needed the ladies, done what was needed washed my hands and noticed some perfume, had a spray. OMG expensive perfume in a loo based on... More

I was down from Edinburgh visiting my elderly parents who live nearby and we went out for dinner to the Old Rydon on a Friday evening. We had reserved a table, but our evening soon took a turn for the worse. The staff seated three very drunk people at the adjacent table. One of the men stared at my mother... More

Excellent food, service and atmosphere in a pub which is full of character. We booked the table which is over the well in the restaurant, just to complete the evenings experience. Had a great evening. Our mains courses were around £13.00 and desserts £5.95. Bar prices aren't the cheapest around, but then, it's not every day you eat out.

We visited for my mums 60th on a busy Sunday. We love visiting this place and once again, it didn't disappoint. They had reserved the old hay loft for us which I love. I worked in this pub many many moons ago (under a different owner) and watched a brewery ruin it for a few years - I love that... More

Stopped by for a quick lunch when visiting family nearby. Service was good, food was good, not much more to it than that. Pub food, drinks and service how it should be; not trying too hard or under achieving but good, solid normality!

Went for Sunday lunch here with the extended family as a pre-Christmas treat. This was unreservedly, without question, the best Sunday roast I have enjoyed since my childhood. The meat (we had beef, lamb and pork between us) was superb quality, and was perfectly complemented by all the expected trimmings - and all homemade and cooked to perfection. I loved... More
