Nice little pub for drinks. Good outside areas just needs some more seating. Prices were but overpriced but what you would expect for small local pub.

First time visit to this lovely olde worlde pub, our party were up in the balcony in a cosy corner, the menu was excellent with a good choice for vegetarians. The food was hot and delicious and we made room for the lovely choice of desserts. Staff were friendly and helpful and we shall definitely go back for seconds.

What a treat to go out for Sunday lunch and get first class service, high quality food and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is cosy which blends in with the old charm of the building. We will be going back again soon to try out some other food on the menu. Sunday Roast is also on a takeaway basis so... More

We came down from the Midlands to take my Mum out for a Xmas meal. Over the last thirty years of doing this, we have tried a few different places but always go back to the Old Rydon. Although the owners change every now and then, the commitment to good food and quality service remains the same. We visited on... More

We enjoyed a beautiful meal cooked to perfection. The starters were more than adequate. Main meals were superb. Service was good. We had a great evening.

Our eldest daughter was staying with us for a few days so we decided to book a table at The Old Rydon. It's been several years since we've eaten there and I'm so glad that they managed to find us a table. I explained that our daughter was a vegan and they could not have been more accommodating. When we... More

As I have said in my previous review of The Old Rydon, this is one of our nearest pubs, consequently we go fairly frequently. On our latest visit I had just a simple sausage & mash with onion gravy. It may have been simple but it was superb! Rather than using run of the mill standard sausages, Charlie uses award... More

Visited as part of a lunchtime booking with work colleagues. Upon arrival it did look like the place was closed, we kept knocking on the door and no answer, it was locked ! A few moments later though someone did hear us and unlocked the door and let us in. They'd simply forgot to unlock it. Very helpful, friendly and... More

I took my Mother for lunch and we arrived via the freezing cold conservatory , back entrance. We entered the cosy pub and found a table. We were given menus and not informed of the specials board that was hidden behind a pillar. I had Pulled pork roll with a nice side salad and coleslaw but the bottom of the... More
