... and well above "usual" pub standards. Situated in Duxford village, very close to the historic Duxford Aerodrome and Imperial War Museum aviation collection this thatched house has a big bar dining area, and when the weather is clement very nice outdoor tables, plus a few letting rooms, for those who want to stay after dinner! Our small party had... More

We arrived at 7pm for a few drinks before our meal . The pub was not over busy but it was a Wednesday evening . After a chat we sat down for our meal . Having picked what we wanted when booking it was straight forward on the evening . The starters were well presented and looked nice . The... More

Been visiting the pub for many years for both drink and food. As others have said, the staff are friendly and helpful and also the beer is well looked after. I have mused a number of times after eating there that perhaps the value is not that good and the food not quite as good as they think it tries... More

Cosy traditional pub offering excellent food and service. The four of us ordered a variety of dishes and all found them to be both tasty and generous. A nice range of traditional beers on tap.

Attractive picturesque charming pub. Serves a wide range of excellent quality meals including locally sourced produce. Caters well for people with food allergies. The menu a good selection of traditional fare which fits well into this traditional English pub.The friendly attentive staff also add to the enjoyment of your meal. Great service, great food, great atmosphere! Good old fashioned quality English pub - just like you see in the tourist brochures but this is authentic. Closed for a wake on the first night of my stay in the area I was glad I went on my second night. Truly fantastic!

Lovely menu and absolutely stunning, faultless food and presentation. Hope to have the chance to dine there again; we are nowhere near local, but I would happily make a rather long detour!

My wife and I were staying in a nearby bed and breakfast and were told that the John Barleycorn was an excellent place to go for a drink and dinner. We were not disappointed. The beer was good, the food unexpectedly brilliant. We were made to feel really welcome and as a result we had no hesitation in booking for the... More

I stopped here last week for lunch whilst travelling to London. It's only a couple of minutes drive from the M11 and is a much better alternative to the usual Little Chefs or Motorway Services. It's a small cosy pub serving a wide variety of tasty food. Service was quick and friendly, prices were comparable to the motorway alternatives but... More
