Good selection of Real Ale, very quaint thatched pub, low ceilings and all. Friendly staff and plenty of outdoor seating. Had a shared Mezze, very nice also.

Staying in the local area whilst flying at Duxford, had a pint one night when passing and then went back the following night for a meal. Nothing was too much trouble. Superb service and probably the best Gammon had ever had, together with the wonderful Liver starter. Will go back again, when visiting the area!

Had 2x Fish and chips, 4X beers between 2 people. Black sheep ale and usual greene king ones, it was probably the best fish and chips ive ever had! The pub has excellent parking facilities, and has a lovely old but new feel inside

Visited for a quick lunch, the pub was quite busy but not heaving. Whilst ordering the landlord was needlessly rude to me, and was later rude to another member of my party. He had a dreadful attidude. I ordered an avacoado and crayfish sandwich, it was £6.25, it contained one very small piece of avacado and 3 pieces of crayfish... More

I am resigned when eating out to limited choices, here almost every dish can be adapted for gluten free. To get gluten free bread with my pate was an additional bonus. Rarely can I have chips because they have been fried with battered fish, once again not only could I have chips but they the best I've ever had. Bliss!!

I ate at the John Barleycorn a few times with relatives and colleagues while in the area on business. The service and food were both very good, and the atmosphere relaxing. There was a good mix of customers, including couples, families and groups of friends. I particularly liked the tsatsiki starter, which came with plenty of bread and olives, and... More

My partner and I visited here after a recommendation by the owner of the B&B we were staying in (the delightful Orchard Pond) and I'm so thrilled she did. We were met by an extremely warm welcome, a characteristic pub and a buzzig atmosphere. Our dishes were cooked perfectly on both occasions (I can't recommend the Venison highly enough!) Will... More

I'd eat here again any time. The food was tasty and appetising, staff friendly and efficient, service quick. Excellent wide range in menu options.

Three of us had Sunday lunch recently. We ate quite early as we wanted to watch the air show at Duxford. The service was cheerful and friendly. The menu is very typical for this type of establishment. The range and prices reflected by the locality. I ordered fish and chips. This was not good but little one could say to... More

We visited on a Friday lunchtime. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The menu has a wide range to choose from. Some of the choices are much more imaginative than you usually get in a pub restaurant. This is the second time I have visited and I was not disappointed because the quality of the starter, main...
