Comfortable cafe serving a lovely cream tea

This café is straightforward and relaxed, they welcome boots and coats and so its perfect to round off a long walk. We enjoyed a lovely cream tea with plenty of tea and soft, fresh home made scones.

Popped in for a cup of tea after comlpleting 2 of Britain's hardest cycling climbs. I was a bit shaky from a lack of sugar and the lovely staff saw this. The lady gave me her last carbohydrate gel off of the shelf. I regularly pop in for beans on toast if I'm in the area and its always quick... More

Retreated here for a fabulous breakfast after a cold nights camping and exploding stove. Friendly staff and lots of lovely fresh cakes so returned after long days walk to refuel. Perfect, Thank you.

Stopped for a tea & cake (flapjack) nice friendly place that welcomes walkers, dogs etc. Nothing to posh in terms of decor but what we had went down well.

Stopped by on a cold February Tuesday for a snack and to warm up. We enjoyed home made mushroom soup and a toastie, both of which were hot, tasty and nicely presented. For a small countryside cafe there was a good range of veggie options and even gluten free foods. I did plan to squeeze in a cream tea as... More

Visited one Sunday with a hangover, after a short walk and what a find! Excellent homemade spicy carrot and lentil soup with a toastie and salad on the side for less than a fiver and delicious. We will be back (hangover optional). 😋

I have been coming to this cafe on a reasonably regular basis ever since we moved to North Yorkshire 13 years ago, and it never seems to change. I should stress that I mean this as a compliment because the food and beverages are always of a very good quality and the service friendly and efficient. Just the place to... More

Stopped here for tea and a sit down and it was a welcoming, small place with reasonable prices. Would go there again.

I agree with the vast majority of the contributors here that this is a very friendly, cosy small cafe serving good food at reasonable prices. Stopped off for tea and a sit down and woudl go again.

Dear Repsychlist, Your recent review of our cafe made three points that we should like to respond to. You remarked about the foul espresso from our machine. We have limited space in the cafe but do use a top of the range bean to cup machine and the best Colombian beans, but everyone has their own preferences,so we take this criticism on...
