Much deserved food stop after a long walk

We stopped here for an early tea after walking most of the day in and around malham. The 6 of us found 2 tables next to each other easily. The soup and sandwich offer was very reasonably priced and was delicious. The all day breakfast was big enough to fill up my 16 year old with hollow legs! There... read more

Visited here after a walk to Malham Cove. Ordered tea, cakes and sandwiches. Service and quality was very average and tea room was not what we expected. Only visited once during our week in Malham.

Good hearty food, decent mugs of tea, friendly service. Well designed for walkers seeking sustenance and (in our case) somewhere to warm up and dry out after getting soaked in the rain!

The Old Barn is ideally situated (from a commercial perspective) on the main village road at the end of various walking trails in the village of Malham. It is the obvious place to go for a well-earned cup of tea and cake at the end of a day's walk. The cafe is relatively small, unpretentious and usually packed with customers.... More

Thanks for your review Peter, sorry you missed out on the scones. After doing this for 14 years it is very rare that we run out of scones, but I believe it was 10 minutes to 5 when you came in and the people in front of you took the last 2 scones. We do close at 5.00pm. Next time you are coming to... More

Visited while on holiday....7 of us went in for lunch. Bacon sandwiches were excellent, as were the scones. So nice to get a proper mug of tea as well rather than those silly ones you get your fingers stuck in the handle. Friendly effecient service....lovely.

Visited the cafe for lunch after a walk. Food and coffee was good and the man serving was very helpful. The visit was spoilt by one of the girls working in the cafe who unfortunately lacked any customer service skills which would be enough to put me off future visits.

We popped in just as they were closing but they still found cakes and drinks and a lovely smile service for us all.

Popped in for a jam and cream scone after walking round the cove. £3.50 for a good sized pot of tea, proper mug and large scone with jam and clotted cream. All accompanied by cheeky sparrows eating your crumbs. Excellent!

Great place to stop for lunch. Usual hiking fare (fried breakfast/ soup/ sandwiches/ toasties etc), simple and well priced. The staff were very friendly. We went back after walking to Malham Cove as they had a good Choice of Ice Cream flavours!
