I agree with the vast majority of the contributors here that this is a very friendly, cosy small cafe serving good food at reasonable prices. Stopped off for tea and a sit down and woudl go again.

Dear Repsychlist, Your recent review of our cafe made three points that we should like to respond to. You remarked about the foul espresso from our machine. We have limited space in the cafe but do use a top of the range bean to cup machine and the best Colombian beans, but everyone has their own preferences,so we take this criticism on... Nice tea and cakes at a good price. Just the thing you need after a mornings walk. Nice welcoming staff (gave a young child extra milkshake for free)

A super cafe with lots of room inside and a small seating are at front overlooking the pretty river. Arrived too late for full menu so made do with tea and scones. All were well served with a delicious and well presented scone. staff were very friendly.

We sat outside because we had a dog. The scones were large with butter which we didnt use lashings of cream and Strawberry jam, yum! lots of tea and extremely good value. Will visit again. We were impressed by the muddy boots notice at the door.

After the long set of stairs up and down to the limestone paving, the wonderful soup and cakes on offer were the perfect treat for us ! We especially loved the Yorkshire curd tart !! We strongly recommend this establishment.

After a long walk we returned to Malham to have a well earned cup of tea. Outside the usual board showed Gluten free menu which was music to my ears being intolerant. I was pleasantly surprised at the choice of cakes and a full gluten free menu. I had the bake well tart which was delicious. I could not find... More

We stopped off here for coffee to warm up after getting soaked hiking in the Dales. The owners were extremely nice and helpful. The lady rang 3 different taxis for us to take us to Settle. There were none available due to the Tour De France, so her husband offered to take us. He dropped us off in Settle and... More

We stopped off at the Old Barn following a walk around Malham Cove. Only stopped for lovely ice creams but the cafe was busy with walkers. Very friendly service especially looking after my 4 year old son who was bound to make a mess of his ice cream. We will be back.

A warm, friendly cafe serving a great range of home made and local produce. Add the usual Yorkshire hospitality and you have an unbeatable combination. Don't visit Malham without dropping by.
