A really nice place, but gets busy

Tried the Buck Inn whilst staying in Malham for a weekend. A group of five of us attended Saturday evening, and we all agreed that the food was lovely. Friendly staff, and a good selection of beers - The Theakstons went down really well!. The only tip I'd give is book before you go if possible. It... read more

The roast chicken was very tasty but served with too much carbohydrate (roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, roast parsnips and a very dry Yorkshire pudding) and carrots cooked in a sugary sauce. Really needed some steamed broccoli. And the ridiculously expensive wine was worse than my usual white from Aldi which only costs £3.76 a bottle!!

If you're visiting Malham Cove you will find you're quite limited for places to eat. The Buck Inn is probably the pick of the crop with a pretty decent menu, all freshly cooked and reasonably priced. We had no complaints with the food - it was cooked well and very tasty. What lets this place down is the facilities which... More

lack of seating, food was slow to arrive. Chips were a bit suspicious and one of the chips portions had a chicken nugget at the bottom of it. Not overly salubrious place.

Called in here a few times while holidaying in Malham for lunch, had sandwiches and chips, friendly staff and service was quick considering they looked short staffed and it was a bank holiday. Very busy at peak times so would advise booking as we called one evening for a meal and missed out as it was so full. The only... More

Before embarking on the Malham circular walk, wife and I decided to 'fill-up' and stopped at the Buck for lunch. I chose the Rabbit pie and wife the chicken and Mushroom. Absolutely lovely pie filled with lean wild rabbit ( as shot by Dave Parker ! ) traditional style chips and a serving of veg. Very nice.

This hotel/pub suffers from the proximity to the much better Lister Arms in the same village. The place looks a bit drab, the wallpaper and decor is awful, but the beer IS good and the Old Peculiar was delicious. The restaurant does not manage well when rushed. While the rabbit pie was hot and delicious, the vegetables were cool and... More

Brilliant food and service no issues seen people moan about the beer prices what do they expect there is no where else near by and why not support local business otherwise it will go! Highly recommend thanks

Arrived early 12.30 pm for lunch. Very friendly staff and pleasant English pub atmosphere. I informed them I have to follow a gluten free, dairy free diet. Venison on the menu board wasn't available. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips but my meal of Roast Chicken was a disaster. I was presented with two dried-up chicken breasts with roast... More
