Had a meal in here and it was fine, atmosphere is a bit lacking but pie was tasty. Perhaps felt a little pricey for what we had. Nothing wrong with the place just a bit non-descript!

The staff behind the bar were friendly and I really wanted to stay and eat for that very reason but 2 things put me off: 1 - the atmosphere was cold and gloomy and I don't like have a massive tv in the bar area. 2 - £4 for a pint of beer, in Yorkshire, is crazy!!!

We only arrived here at the Buck Inn as The Lister Arms was so busy they had to close the kitchen for 2 hours. We had to go in the Hikers Bar after eventually reading all the do's and don'ts on the door, (dogs on leads, no dogs on the furniture etc etc) It was a red hot bank holiday... More

The Buck Inn Restaurant is the same as The Buck Inn. Trying to separate the two is shifty at best. Avoid.

We visited this pub twice on the same day. Early doors time when we sat in the chillier walkers part ~ fine, we had muddy boots after all, but it did seem a little out of place decor-wise. Beer was fine. We returned in the evening and sat in the more traditional side. Very cosy and warm. I'd recommend the... More

We ate here three times during our stay and could not fault the quality of the food, it was delicious! A sensible selection of food, with some interesting beers and wines available. Decor is probably described as traditional, but it was warm and homely and clearly well liked by the locals as well as the tourists!

Going by other reviews the food here can be a bit hit and miss but we had a very pleasant lunch with good service and nice atmosphere. The beer was fine. There were several other couples eating and all seemed to be happy with their food. The pub decor is "olde worlde" which we liked. It was warm and comfortable... More

Ate twice during our stay so must have done something right! Had breast of chicken which was delicious but could have done with something green. And also tried the scallops and black pudding which was beautiful. Very pricey though - a two person round hitting a tenner each time! Lovely place and a nice outside heated area.

There are just some things you must have after a cold hard challenging walk in awful weather! That's hot tasty food, a coal fire and friendly staff. This place had it all will come back!

Great food, a cut above the usual pub fayre but not too pricey and locally sourced produce too, keeps the local economy alive. Great range of ales too.
