I took my boots off before i realised there was no need to. The staff welcomed us in and filled our glasses properly. I had lovely homemade soup with a great warmed hunk of bread, just what you need on a cold days walking. The pannini my friend had looked and tasted great. We will be back!

A once fantastic pub in the heart of Malham that I had been going to for years. 5 years elapsed and I decided to make a return trip to find that it now resembles a wetherspoons! The character has been totally detroyed by a recent 'refurbishment' and the sticky and greasy menu was difficult to read in such a dingy... More

We were staying at nearby Beck Hall and wanted to visit both pubs in Malham during the evening. We visited The Buck first. Although the staff were friendly and the wine good, it just wasn't the cosy, traditional pub that we hoped to find in the middle of a Yorkshire village. We only went into the bar area that allowed... This is a beautiful old pub with a great real fire, lovely decor and v pleasant staff. The beer and cider are excellent, well kept and served. The staff were pleasant and helpful and v happy to give us a spare plate so our kids could share aa adult roast. if you need the loo they are distinctly un-pub like and... Ate here for a weekend lunch, food was largely very good, service was excellent but it is not cheap. She has chicken and leek pie which she loved, the boy had kids fish and chips which was 'ok', the fish didn't look freshly battered to me (not that it said it was on the menu though) but to be fair... We ate in The Hikers Bar after walking on the hills all day and arrived at around 5.45, food isn't served until 6.00, so we had some good beer and I ordered the Red onion and goats cheese tartlet, Puff pastry, salad garnish and new potatoes £11.50. Had to wait 40 minutes for it to arrive. When it did arrive,... More

We found this pub on a drive out on a wet Thursday lunchtime. Looked lovely from outside and on the plus side (for us) children and dogs welcome. Drinks were very expensive (£12 for 2 beers and an orange juice). Menu look good (if not a little overpriced) so we ordered a panini and soup with a sharing portion of... More

Traditional style pub with lovely open fire and great good. Good choice of ales. Building has a lot of character with smaller hikers bar attached.

Just had a long weekend in Malham. Decided to try the Buck Inn for tea on the first night. I had the fish and chips - small portion of fish for £13.50; my husband had the burger board which was just ok. Drinks also expensive. Service ok, although there was a barman who seemed more interested in putting glasses away... More

We went to the Buck with a view to eating there the following evening. It was very dark and quite dismal, although the menu looked good. There were a group of locals in, who were very overpowering and noisy - they could have been at a football match. It didn't appeal to us at all,.
