Out-of-the-way seafood bar

Despite being forced to sit in the bar area (the benches aren't too comfortable), I enjoyed our visit to Linnane's. The first issue is finding the place as it's all too easy to assume that it is in Kinvara whereas it's down a small (and not so good) road between Ballyvaughan and Kinvara which takes... read more

Today, after a nice morning scudding around Galway Bay on a boat, we went to Linnanes. We had some mussels in white wine and garlic for a starter, along with a Guinness for me and a nice glass of Sauv Blanc for herself. The mussels were wonderful. Nice heaped bowl, lots of tasty broth, some good bread for dipping. Couldn't... More

We found this place through our B&B and a Taste of the Burren brochure, so we had expectations for a good evening with one of our first vacation dinners. It was a busy early Sat. night but we clearly had the off-server or someone just learning her role and not picking it up quickly! No water offered, no bread, just... More

Having been recommended the restaurant by a friend I made a booking and, in view of the name, was expecting to be able to have Lobster. They didn't have any. Granted there were, I took their word for it, exceptional circumstances, the Lobster fisherman's mother had apparently died a couple of days previously. Nothing was said when I made the... More

This is the real deal - everything on the menu is sourced locally like right of the dock out back. We arrived early on Sunday night to beat the crowd and scored a window seat. Oysters were tangy plump and O so good - sea food plater was hugh and would feed at least 2 - clams over pasta yummy... More

This is a very special and popular dining experience. You can sit in the pub end by a warm fire and enjoy a drink before or after your meal. The seafood is fantastic, but other tastes are catered for as well. Wines are very good (we had house wines, but sill good), Recommend as a must if you are near... More

Excellent setting on the quay overlooking the water. The staff are so friendly from the moment you walk in and move through from the bar to the restaurant area. It's difficult to choose from the menu - we felt we would have to visit everyday for a week to try every dish we would have liked to order. Our waitress... More
