Welcoming staff average food

Lasagne and chips for lunch and a pot of tea for under a tenner, warmed us up but wasn't inspiring. This place has potential to be so much better

I stopped off for a coffee on my way home. Good service and atmosphere. A Clean and tidy environment.

Enquired if there was a table for three. Told "full". End of 'conversation'. As there was lots of unused tables not sure what was full...but we went to the Angel and loved it. Won't try again.

My partner had pasta with a mushroom source. I could see through to the kitchen where chef scraped the mushroom source from a plastic container fresh from the microwave on to the pasta...inedible. I had a steak and ale pie the contents of the pie were OK actually not too bad, but topped with a piece of pastry resembling the... More

Uninspired, everything too much bother. We went for tea and cake but even that was beyond the waiter. `he came back three times to check the order. Tea was lukewarm when it arrived 10 minutes later. Cake took another 5 minutes to arrive.

This guy doesn't deserve any business. We went in to look at menu over a bank holiday and based on expensive prices decided to go elsewhere. We were rudely told "you won't find anywhere else to eat you know". Guess what we did and this guy serves to fail and go bust.

Bistro Hafren was recommended by the owner of our accommodation and we had an evening meal here. We chose the evening special - 2 courses for £10. We had the gammon and the steak and ale pie. The former was tasty and tender and the latter was packed with huge chunks of steak and topped with the best pastry I've... More

Basic food done to a fair standard but we didn't exactly test them - Welsh Rarebit (lumpy, not grilled to a finish, a little bland) and beans and cheese on toast. Ordered these dishes as was in a hurry and thought these would be quickest however still waited 15 minutes despite being the only person in there (aside from an... More

We stayed in the area for 3 nights, the food was amazing at the Bistro Hafren! So fresh and filling that we couldn't even squeeze in a pudding!

We ate here on the last evening of our holiday, the staff were pleasant and the food was good and freshly cooked. 2 courses for £10 was really good value.
